“Fine.” He said. He helped me stand up beside the bed and grabbed some clothes that Lily had brought from the little locker type thing by the door. I smiled and blushed as I took off the gown in front of him. He turned his head, not jokingly or in a rude manner, but out of respect. I pulled my underwear on, holding onto him. I had no sense of balance after lying in bed for that long. I put a bra on next so that he could turn and look at me without being uncomfortable. Now it was like being in a bathing suit.

“You haven’t been eating enough.” He said simply.

“What are you talking about?” I asked him.

“You are too skinny. You are skinny to begin with, but now you look like a piece of paper. Promise me that you’ll gain that wait back. You look better with some meat on you.” He said and smiled playfully.

“I promise, and tank you for being a gentleman and not looking.” I said and stood on my tiptoes to kiss him once, only I didn’t get to kiss him. As I got onto the tips of my toes I lost my balance again and Aaron caught me. I finished getting dressed and laid back down. About three minutes later my dad walked in.

“Let’s go children!” He said and clapped his hand once. I was giggling when the nurse came over with the wheel chair. Aaron helped me out of the bad and lowered my carefully into the chair. I gritted my teeth, closed my eyes, and breathed in slowly the whole way down. Aaron tried to be as gentle as possible, but it still hurt.

“Okay Mia, your ribs are going to be sore for a while, but it will go away, I promise. We will see you back here in a week and a half for a check-up, okay?” The nurse asked cheerfully. I nodded my head and she waved and walked out.

Aaron wheeled me over to the nurses station and my dad checked me out. I was then rolled into the elevator and out the door on the first floor.
