Part Ten

the next day, i woke up to someone sitting on my bed. when i opened my eyes and saw kyle sitting there, i screamed and went under the covers. ha laughed "hey sleepyhead, wake up. i brought breakfast."

i peeked out and sure enough, i saw him holding out a tub of ben and jerrys, cookies and cream, chacolate, and cookie dough. "hold crap!! how did you know my favorite flavors??" he laughed again "really these are your favorites? they're mine too" i looked up and smiled at him. i gave him a big hug and whispered "thank you. this is exactly what i need."

that night at nine, we were sitting in my bedroom talking, like we had been all day. we had finished the ice cream forever ago, so they were just sharing stories now. 

"ok wait," i laughed. "so you litterally got pantsed during your game??" he cracked up. "yes! i didn't talk to that guy for ages!!"

we were flat on the floor we were laughing so hard. we were quiet for a little bit after that so i said, "so what does your dad do?" i didnt get an answer for a while, and then he finally said quietly

"he kind of jumps around from job to job.."

"oh, well, what does he do now?"

again, a long silence. finally i said

"we dont have to talk about it.."

he breathed out. "thanks.."

after a moment of silence he looked at his watch and jumped up. 

"holy crap i gotta go. mandy's gonna be in so much trouble!!" mandy's his sister.

i got up too "why what did she do?"

he stopped "um nothing i just mean umm..... nothing.."

"ok"

i walked him to the door.

"will i see you at school?" he asked.

"if i see you."

he smiled. "cool. this was.. fun. we should do it again"

"yeah, we should."

he gave me a hug and held me for a second longer than necessary. he gave me a give kiss on the head that said 'were all besttttt frandsss' and drove away.

i smiled as i realized, i finally had a real friend.

even if she like him more than that.
