My dog is 10 years old and I still call her my puppy. I have had her since my 5th birthday.

She has stomach cancer and my family will have to put her down on the 17th.

If anyone has any ideas of something my family and I could do to honor her memory like for example putting her ashes in a place she loved, please leave a comment.

and please favorite this and pray for my puppy and that she will be happy for eternity

It sounds silly but Emme was more than a dog to me, she was like the sister I never had and I am going to miss her like crazy. <3

R.I.P. Emme I love you forever 12/17/10

It hurts, so much. Those inconsiderate bastards who say, "Who cares? It was just a dog/cat/rat/bird/animal." can kiss my . I lost three of my cats and both my chinchillas this year, and we have to put my dog down soon. Two of those cats and that dog have been around since before I could talk. When my cats died, they took a part of me with them, and it hurts not being whole. So read this. I hope it cheers you up.

im so sorry, i know how you feel. we had to put my dog down last year and i couldnt even see him when they did it. maybe if he had a favorite place (or more) you could sprinkle his ashed there? for my dog (he was 10, too) we made a sort of shrine in my house. its a desk with his ashes, pictures, and a little statue of a greman shepherd with wings. im so sorry :(

aww i'm so sorry about your doggy. i agree with sissymiss about the pawprint square - because that way, she'll always be with you and your family. this is a poem i remember from when i was younger and my neighbors lost two dogs (me and my family were very close with the doggies) anyway, the poem is called Rainbow Bridge. it's about pets reuniting with their owners when their time comes as well - it brought tears to my eyes:
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears forward, eyes dart front and back,

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

I am really sorry, my ten year old dog just recently had surgery and barely survived. If I were you to honor Emme buy one of the concrete square kits and put her footprint in it and write her name on it, then when you bury her ashes you can put that over top of them or keep it in your room so she will always be there with you. Also you can take her collar, a picture of her, and one of her favorite toys and put it in a special box dedicated to her. I will keep you and your family and Emme in my prayers. This kind of thing is hard to deal with so I can't imagine how hard it for you so if you ask me I admire you for your bravery and trying to be strong <3
