please read this... i can almost promise you
that you'll cry a little.
today i was walking around. i'm
not too sure where i was, but i was alone and i needed to think. i
noticed a homeless man sitting in a corner. remembering the rain was
falling hard on his head and the wind was picking up. all he had on
was ratty old shorts and sox. no shirt or shoes. he held up a sign that
said "i need change." i felt a tear
slowly drip down my face, and pulled 8 dollars in quarters out of
my pocket. i
thought to myself, "this is the best i can do." so i
asked him to hold out his hand. he did. i placed the money in his
hand and he gave it
back as soon as he could. i told him that i was trying to help
because i saw the sign. he looked at me and smiled, he said
"sweetie, thank you. but i don't need that, i meant
actual change. i need my life to
change."
true story. i can't stop
crying.
