Sharing-Chapter/Part 1

I looked at myself thoroughly in the mirror. A random blue t-shirt hung loosely on my curvy figure above my jean short-shorts. Possibly the shortest pair I have. My white flip flops flipped and flopped nicely on my feet. My blonde hair, straighten to perfection, was clipped away revealing my cheeks, thoroughly blushed.

"You look good, can we go now?" My best friend groaned, who was sprawled across my bed munching on popcorn.

"No- you're not dressed properly," I said, giving her the once over.

"I dont have anything to wear though," She whined.

"Mi armario es su armario," I smiled, gesturing towards the walk in closet I've had ever since we moved into this beach house when I was 7.

"Izzy, you know I got like a D in Spanish last year?" She stated.

"My closet is your closet," I grabbed her hand and yanked her up off my bed and pushed her towards the closet. "Come back out when you have on something fancy-smancy for the party."

"Wait," Meggie said, before I could shut the closet door on her. "Its only Heather Claire's party."

"Yeah- Heather Claire's Beach Party. You see how big my house- hers is bigger. You need to look really good- especially for the boys." I shoved a bathing suit she had left one time at my house at her, telling her to put it on underneath her clothes.

"If I have to dress fancy- why dont you?" Her face was puzzled.

My hands grabbed the bottom of the simple cotton shirt, and I yanked it off over my head, revealing what I was really wearing to the party. A strapless red shirt hugged my belly, my two piece bathing suit on underneath. I applied a fresh layer of bright red lip-gloss on my lips to match my shirt and black and red bathing suit. I added a blacker layer of eye liner and slipped into black high heel flip-flops.

"Do you honestly think my parents would ever let me wear this out of the house? I'd be dead before I leave the yard," I smiled, whipped of the excess make-up and changed back into my cover-up clothes.

Meggie went into my closet and came back out, a short black dress covering her bathing suit, black heels engulfing her feet, and a red necklace hung on her neck.

"Like?" Meggie asked.

"Love!" I exclaimed.

We slipped out the house, thankfully, without my parents having to take a second look at her thirteen year old daughter and her daughter's best friend.

"Mom, were walking down the street to Heather's house." I called, halfway out the door.

"Is there going to be a party?" She asked from her spot on the couch in front of our big screen t.v.

"Just a few friends over. We might go swimming later. I have my phone on me. We'll be back whenever." I hurried us out the door.

"Do you know when curfew is?" Mom called.

"Nope!" Meggie and I announced at the same time as we shut the door and scurried out into the street on our way down to Heather Claire's house before my mom could call out the time to be home.
