The phone rang one rainy night,
She heard her mom say, "Hun everythings gonna be alright."
She hadn't prepared herself for this day,
She always thought the cancer would go away,
She knew what was coming, the tears rolled down her cheek,
The world without him would be so bleak,
He was her true love, no one could compare,
But now her side would be empty, he would never return there,
She hung up the phone and wanted to die,
She looked up to heaven and asked god "why?",
Why had god taken her true love away?
Hadn't he known she felt this way?
At the funeral, reality sunk in,
He was never coming back again,
But she realized his spirit lived one,
So maybe, He had never really gone,
But the only reason why they were laying him to reast,
Was to show the people on earth god only takes the best.*
