According to ESPN, Softball is the 9th hardest sport. 
To those who disagree.
You not only have to physically fit to play, you have to play a mental game.
Every time the pitcher releases the ball, you have to know every possible way to get that girl out.
Have you ever tried to throw a softball? If you don't hold the laces right the ball will not go in your intended direction.
Don't even get me started on batting. You have to have perfect eye-hand coordination to hit the 12' softball coming at you. To actually hit the ball you need leg strength. Oh ya and when you use all that force to hit the ball you immediately have to run to first, which is 60 feet away. When the pitcher releases that ball, you run as fast as you can to second. Hmm that may sound easy except when you have a catcher who LIVES to get girls out on steals wiping the flaming neon ball at you and you have to slide. Sliding is another thing, if you EVER want a modeling career softball is not your sport. You can spot a softball player from the cuts on her knees that are there forever. We softball players are not scared to get down and dirty. We live for the thrill of the game.

During the season I got hit dead on my ankle I was on crutches for a week.. I was our best infielder....I play shortstop... That didn't end well. But playing shortstop its not as much paying attention to your hand position while throwing its more reaction pick up and throw.<3
