Just Love -
- - Chapter Two :)
I woke up in the morning to the smell of
pancakes and fruit smoothies. I smiled and threw on my bright
orange bathrobe and trotted downstairs. If you didn’t
notice, my favorite color is orange. Jensen is over the hot stove
cooking pancakes and Scott is making the strawberry smoothies.
Joel and Dean walk in at the same time looking like they just
rolled out of bed, their shirts wrinkled and their hair sticking
out from every direction. Seth is taking a shower.
I took a seat at the breakfast bar and
said, "How did everyone sleep in our new home? I kinda like
it here, I am sure it will get some getting used to, but we have
the horses right here and tons of paths to ride on and even an
indoor ring, and an outdoor ring. Speaking of which, does anyone
want to help me get all of the horses' stuff unpacked? Maybe
someone who has all of their bedroom settled?" I was jumping
around topics so fast that they all stared at each other because
they aren't even half awake yet.
Seth pops in and says, "Yeah I will
help you with the horse stuff. I got all of the riding pads and
food and water buckets, we just have to install them to the
stalls. We have the bridal and saddles to move into the bridle
and saddle room. Then there are the brushes, but we could just
soak those in water for awhile, while we do everything else, that
will cut down time a bit. Does that sound good? we can head down
after breakfast." By this point, Joel and Dean have walked
away to the couch watching the news to see what's going on in our
new town.
I take a pancake and pour syrup on it
and take a strawberry smoothie. "Yeah, I just have to eat
some decent food, I haven't eaten a home cooked meal in forever.
Then I am just gonna jump in the shower. So you can just finish
unpacking while I do that. We also have to call the school to
make sure they got our forms-"
Jensen cuts in, "I already did,
well I tried to anyways. I called the school and left a message.
Then I looked up the Superintendent and he contacted the
secretary for me. He said that they got them and you guys should
go in at 7:30 on Monday, you will have the same classes so you
guys won't be separated. And they said to bring your lunch
because they still have to make copies of the lunch account form
for you guys." He finally looked up from the list he was
reading off of.
I finished my breakfast and headed off
to my new bathroom to take a shower. Seth headed to his room to
finish unpacking and threw on some clothes and headed to the
living room to wait for me. A half an hour later I came down
wearing my riding pants and an old tee shirt from an old
volleyball summer team I was on last summer. My hair was up in a
messy-but-cute-bun and ready to go. Since this was a two week
vacation, the school asked me to hold a class for the
highschoolers on how to ride horses. The kids would be from the
school I would be attending in two weeks. Today was a Wednesday,
we were skipping school to unpack and organize the club. I am
surprised at myself when I am thrilled for the club. I am going
to get to meet new people from my new school. That way I didn't
have to look awkward when I walk into school and no one knows me.
I am also kind of nervous because what if the kids didn't like
me?
In a couple hours everything was all set
and ready for the club to come. Seth and I decided to go riding
to get Perry and Sonny used to the trails. Perry was a beautiful
gray speckled with black male with a long mane and tail. I always
liked the shaggy sort of look on Perry so I never cut his hair.
Ivory is this sleek white male with bright blue eyes. They are
both pretty big horses, and they are brothers. They get along so
great. Seth and I are like that in a sense too, we just
connect.
Later we got to the barn and fed the
horses and headed back towards the house for dinner. "Wow I
can't believe all of the horses get along, especially because
ours have never met Uncle Rick's horses. I thought for sure there
would be just one mishappening. I am shocked" Seth said with
a smile on his face. "I am so glad there wasn't though. That
would have sucked. Now we can us the extra paddock as an outdoor
ring. All we have to do is make it a little smaller and add some
jumping poles in there."
I was sort of listening, but I was
thinking more about school and the club. I found myself wondering
if there will be mean girls, or nice girls there. Maybe I will
meet a boy. I smiled at the last part.
After dinner, I sat on my balcony just
thinking and staring up at the full moon. My dad always loved
full moons. Sometimes he would take me riding at midnight on a
full moon. Mom never knew about it, if she did she would probably
scream. I smiled at that.
