A Love Story #27
A
couple of hours later Luke and I were driving home when he
decided to surprise me with a trip to the Humane Society.
"Luke, what are we doing here?" I ask as he holds
the door open for me.
"Well, the condo is so quiet with just us, so I figured we
could get a cat or maybe a dog." He says as we walk through
the'puppy room' door.
"But don't I leave in a couple of days?" I ask
him and then start walking through the room.
"Well, when you were shopping, I talked to your parents, and
they said you could come up on the weekends, and well, it's
summer. So you could come up whenever you want!"
He explains and then turns his attention to the puppies.
"Awwhh, this one is sooo cute!" I say pointing at
a little 2 month-old, frisky yellow lab.
"You're right!" He says and opens the
cage so we can play with her.
"I want this one!" I say as I hold her close and
she starts to fall asleep.
"Okay, here put her in the cage and we'll go to talk
to the people at the front desk." He says as he takes
my hand and leads me to the front desk.
"How may I help you?" Says the lady at the front
desk.
"We would like to adopt a puppy, the 2 month-old yellow lab
in the puppy room." He says and then smiles.
"Okay, we are going to have you fill out these papers, and
these she's yours to take home." Says the lady as she
hands us a pen and a stack of papers.
15 minutes later and we were just finishing up the
paper-work.
"And finished!" Says Luke as he finishes signing
his name and then gets up to give the papers to the lady at the
desk.
"Okay, follow me, and then you can have the newest member to
your family. Hmm, are you guys, uhh, married?"
She asks as she sees my ring.
"What? Ohh, uhh, well we're engaged to be
engaged." He explains and takes my hand.
20 minutes later we were getting in the car with our brand new
puppy in the backseat.
"I can't wait to play with her!" I say and then
give him a quick kiss on the lips.

ive never seen the moviee, but im gonnna take a wildd guess, is it 'were engaged to be engaged' hahaa great storyy:)
