I remember when race issues were about who ran the fastest,
And war was only a card game that I always lost.
And the most people noticed about you was if you had pink or red
nail polish on and if it was sparkly or not.
No one cared who the President was,
Or which countries were fighting,
Or if your skin color was chocolate or vanilla colored.
But that's all changed now.
But what I remember most,
Was how much I wanted to grow up.
I wish I was back in them easy years
With nothing to worry about.
