An open letter to my parents,
As the middle child I have seen, and experienced everything good and bad in the books.
but I am okay with that.
I have learned a lot through these 16 years of living,
and I have you to thank for the majority of that.
I know that you hate when we call you by your first name,
and when we talk about moving out, or college.
I know that the clogged sink gives you the hibby geebys,
and I know you hate seeing bobby bins on the shower floor.
I think we do these things just to see you react most of the time.
But one day you'll miss these things
Being the middle child I have seen you argue with the oldest,
and have moments with the youngest.
I have seen your eyes light up when your grand children stumble in the door,
and have seen you crying over your favorite episode of Greys Anatomy.
Although I wasn't there for your graduation day, Or first day of college,
but I appreciate all the hard work and time you put into us kids.
I don't mind making dinner, or picking up the kids on my way home from work.
It doesn't bother me when I have to wake the kids up, or help them with homework.
You work 80+ hours a week for us kids and its the least I can do in return for you guys.
We all appreciate the things you do for us,
Even if we don't always express that.
I hope one day I can be half the parent you are,
Caring every hour of the day,
Regaurdless if you hadn't slept yet,
or are running on empty stomach,
You always put 110% into us.
Thank you for everything from A-Z that you have done to put a roof above our head.
