She was beautiful
I went to the museum today
and saw the most beautiful girl.
She had short brown hair
and blotchy, pale skin.
Her bangs fell over her eyes
and her music surrounded her.
She wasn't at all like the girls on Vogue,
or make-up commercials.
But she was real.
And the first time that I saw her,
I felt happy,
Like the shattered parts of me
were coming together again
It makes me wonder,
if anyone has ever felt that way about me.
Was I ever the mysterious girl,
with the blotchy pale skin,
and music in her veins?
We've all seen someone that we fall in love with,
just by looking at them.
It's as if we can see through their skin,
and peer into the beauty of their soul.
And if you really think about it,
everyone you pass by during your day
is beautiful.
Whether their hair falls over their shoulders
in such a perfect way you can't help but stare,
or the way they walk,
so full of excitement,
as if they're happy just to be alive.
If you really look, everyone is beautiful.
Everyone is perfect.
And if you haven't realized it yet,
you are everyone, too.
