To some people running is merely exercise, or a way of getting in shape. To a cross country runner or a Track member its self discipline at practice, and at meets its the only thing you've got. Heart and mind are a part of it, but with out your feet what good is it to be passionate and wise?

People don't play sports because its fun. Ask any athlete, most of them hate it, but they couldnt imagine their life without it. Its part of them, the Hate/love relationship. its what they live for. They live for the practices, parties, cheers, long bus rides, invitationals, countless pairs of diff. types of shoes, water, Gatorade, & coaches u hate but appreciate. They live for the way it feels when you beat the girl next to you by one hundreth of a second & you know those 2 extra sprints you ran in practice were worth it. They live for the way you become a family with your team, they live for the countless songs you sing in your head when you're running ALL those intervals. They live for the competition, they live for the friends, the practices, the memories, the pain, its who they are. It's who we are. WE ARE ATHLETES.

&& I HATE the pictures I still have of us... not because their not good pictures... we both look so happy together that night. No I hate them because then everyone else see's them and tells me how cute we are together... It seems like a silly thing to hate but it just makes me regret that we're not still happy together... that you moved on... and that I'm still trying too....
