The Persistence Of Memory
Tick tock ticking clock,
time goes on but you may not.
A self contained doomsday device,
but fully legal in the light.
I've seen it all the north, the east
The desert warmth, to the northern sleet.
No matter what you hear or see
in a matter of time they'll just be simple memories.
Our minds as flat as tire tracks
shouting for persistence but truth we lack.
Life is our friend and enemy
For in the end all we really have is our memory.
