Hey guys. My name is Katie. I'm 14 and I'm in 8th grade. My favorite band is Black Veil Brides. My three favorite songs right now are 'The Mortician's Daughter' by BVB, 'Saviour' by BVB, and 'Pumped Up Kicks' by Foster The People. Music, books, and my close friends are my absolute life. I love to draw but I'm crap XD. When I grow up, I want to be a forensic scientist or a writer. Or both ;). I have a brown Boykin Spaniel named Nick who hates me sometimes. I’m a vegetarian but not one of those ‘OMG! You’re eating meat! I can’t be around you!’ types.
I have two older brothers, one is a freshman in college and one is a senior in high school. I live in south western Ohio. I love watching shows like Ghost Adventures and Destination Truth, but I also love to watch NCIS and Burn Notice. I love night and reading and writing. I play lacrosse and volleyball. You know how everyone has those two little voices in their heads? One whispers terrible scars in your life, your insecurities, and points out your flaws. The other whispers, "Your flaws are what make you beautiful," and stuff like that. Well, in my case, the first voice took the second voice into a dark corner of my mind and burtally murdered it. I have a brother in college who I absolutely love despite all the bad things that have happened between us. For Christmas, I made him a little bowl in art. His school mascot is a falcon so I added a beak and eyes and wrote 'Go Falcons!" on the inside and his name on the back. Also, I painted it his school colors and wrote "<3 Your Sister 2011' on the bottom. On Christmas Day, when he opened it, he just sorta treated it like a gift he didn't really like. Said it was cool and moved on.
A few days later, the bowl was still downstairs, so I moved into his room.
On Monday, he went back to college for the rest of his break.
Today, when I went into his room, his nightstand wasn't empty. There was the bowl I had spent so much time on to make him. Forgotten and discarded. I'll be honest, I cried. And I'm crying typing this up.
The bowl resembles me now. Forgotten. Discarded. Left behind.

TODAY
One of the girls I hang out with laughed at part of a video we watched today in class. It was a picture. Of what you ask? A wedding cake with two guys. She turned around and looked at me. She mouthed something along the lines of "LOL Gay Marriage" and I mouth back "So?" About 80%-90% of my grade is like that, just so immature. So what if two guys/two girls like each other? It happens and so does a guy/girl commiting suicide for being bullied about it. Want to know what else happens? A guy and a girl dating.
It doesn't matter why you tease/make fun/bully someone.
It only matters that you're doing something that can kill them.

What Happened?
Why do they say what they do?
To make them feel better?
One of them knows, and he lets them get away with it.
And when they crawl after us, asking questions when our minds are already swimming with ones we ask ourselves, we use actions to fight back because we can't muster the words to speak.
And here we sit, waiting for tomorrow, waiting for whiplash and recoil, but why?
Why do we sit, like a mouse waiting for the snake to eat us up?
