Say You Like Me

"Now just carry the 5 and multiply by 8..." My Geometry teacher said as she did a problem on the board.
I brushed a piece of blonde hair out of my face as I looked out the window.
The palm trees that surrounded West Coast High were swaying in the wind as the blue skies seemed to get bluer.
"Charlotte," said Mrs. Halbery.
I zapped back to reality as everyone darted their eyes at me.
"Oh. Um...what?"
The classed laughed at my complete blondness.
"What did you get for your answer?" She said as she pointed to the board.
But before I could answer, the bell rung and the smell of the weekend filled my nostrils.
"Now homework is page 193..."
I didn't hear the rest because I walked out of the class room.
I strutted over to my locker and got "heys" from everyone.
Who wouldn't want to say hi to me?
I was Charlotte Wilson; the most popular girl in school.
I'm not the b*tchy kind of popular, though.
I'm actually nice and courteous towards everyone.
While placing my geometry and history books in my locker, someone squeezed my waist.
I jumped as I turned around to see Jason, my boyfriend.
"Hey there, beautiful," he said after he kissed me.
"Hey," I said with a smile.
"I can't wait for tonight."
"Same here, babe," I said with a smile.
Tonight was the biggest party of the year.
Only the most exclusive people in California traveled to LA for this party.
"How about 8?"
"That's great!" I said while closing my locker.
"Okay, well I'll see you then," he said while kissing me on the cheek.
"Ok. Bye!"
He gave me one of his signature hugs and then walked out the door.
Tonight was going to be amazing.

When I got out of my white sports car, I breathed in the California air.
Home sweet home.
But, when I walked up the cobble stone pathway and opened the French doors of my house, I was greeted with yells from my parents.
"I TOLD YOU TO PICK UP THE GROCERIES," my mom screamed, her hair was in a super messy ponytail and there were tears welling up in her eyes.
"I DID YOU DUMB B*TCH," my dad screamed at her.
His hair was wild and her eyes were bloodshot.
They continued fighting as I ran up the stairs to my room.
I slammed the white door to my room and collapsed onto my king-sized bed.
Why were they fighting?
I felt so alone.
The tears then started to fall.
I haven't cried since my breakup with Ryan.
Ryan was my boyfriend before Jason.
After 15 minutes, I heard a knock on my door.
"Who is it?" I mustered through the sobs.
"It's me."
Mom.
"Come in."
She came in looking more calm and collected than she did when I first got home.
"I have something to tell you."
Her face was very stern and she looked as if she'd been crying.
"Okay," I said while sitting up.
I smiled at her, but she didn't smile back.
She looked worried and it scared me.
"Well I don't know how to tell you this...but your father wants you to go live with Auntie Shannon in Australia."
