chapter 1
I had my legs dangling over my bed and my head rested on my hand staring at the blank phone screen next to me. It’s been 3 hours since Lance was supposed to call. Lance was the totally cute buff lifeguard at the local beach. We ran into each other and he said he would give me a call at 4. I looked at the clock. 7:01 pm. It’s official, he’s the 4th guy in a row to blow me off.
The next morning my alarm rang at 6:00 am exactly. It was a hot June day and there is only 2 more weeks of school left. I got out of the shower and straightened my naturally wavy brown hair, applied my regular makeup which consisted of little eyeliner and neutral eye shadow and mascara. I put on a flowy floral dress with a belt on the hips and a sophisticated pair of black heels. I grabbed a piece of toast and went out the door to my silver Mercedes. A lot of people were jealous of my car. I’d say I was pretty popular, but I have a far from perfect life.
