Hi :) I'm a writer here on witty and I currently have 1 full story posted. I had started to write a sequel to that story, but I discontinued it last year. I'm back writing another completely new story! I really love writing so I would appreciate it if you took the time to read/comment/fav/follow. Thank you!

    ✖Chapter 2 (Pt. 2)✖
"Olivia, you like him, don't you." My mom accused me, smirking as we walked back to the car. "What, no, mom! What are you talking about, why would you say that, what?" I babbled. My mom just stared at me with her devil like smirk. "Just the way you stared at him. You were wide-eyed." "Mom, I just met the guy. I don't like him." That was true. "I don't even think he's that cute, okay?" That part wasn't true. He was cute. Really..hot. But out of my league. Although that didn't bother me. He was a jerk anyway. "Okaaay, whatever." She said, stepping into the car.
We drove home, listening to the radio, as I stared out the window, watching the blur of trees and houses go by. We finally got home and I ran upstairs to put all my new clothes away. I didn't feel like picking out an outfit for tomorrow yet. This is my last day of summer. And I'm probably going to spend it watching Netflix and panicking about how to do my hair or worrying if I don't have the right supplies.
My mom came upstairs a little later and sat with me on my bed to talk about tomorrow. We went over the supplies list to make sure I had everything, and she helped me pick out an outfit. "I just want to wear sweatpants, honestly." I sighed. But that wouldn't make much of a good impression to anyone. I live in a wealthy town. I wouldn't be surprised if I saw girls wearing shoes that could pay our monthly mortgage.
Before I knew it, it was already 9:45pm. I had been watching a show, trying to forget about my worries, and time flew by. I brushed my teeth and pulled my covers down. I slid into bed, and decided to go on tumblr for a bit. It helps me fall asleep.
Before I knew it, it was 5:30am and my alarm was going off to the sound of 'Marimba'. I fumbled to shut it off, and my mom barged into my room. "Hi honey! I made coffee! Just wanted to make sure your up! I'm super excited about my first day of work and you better be super excited about your first day of real school! This will be great, I promise. You just wait and see. Get up soon so you aren't late on your first day!" She quickly walked out of the room. Boy was she...happy. I pulled the covers off my body and rolled myself out of bed.

    ✖Chapter 2✖
I woke up to the sound of the garbage trucks outside picking up our trash. It was around 9:30am. I don't even remember shutting my eyes, but I must've drifted off while I was laying in my bed watching Netflix. Then it hit me. I have my first day of school tomorrow. My first day of waking up before its even light out, my first day of nice clothes, new people, new routine, new teachers, new schedule. Just new everything. I got out of bed and walked over to my newly bought backpack. It was a simple black North Face backpack that my mom bought for me a few days ago. She gave it to me when she told me I was going to public school. It was already packed with notebooks, pens, pencils, folders, and other school supplies that I wasn't used to carrying around. It's Sunday, and that must mean my mom has to be home. I skipped my daily bathroom routine of brushing my teeth and hair and went straight downstairs to see my mom. I missed her. I hadn't been seeing much of her lately, since she has been consumed in work and starting her new job and all.
When I got downstairs she was making eggs. "Hi mom." I smiled. "Hi hun, want some eggs and toast?" She said as she flipped an egg in the pan. "Yes, I'm starving." She finished making the eggs and toast, and made plates for the both of us. "Thanks." I said to her. I tried to look happy, but my mom could see right past my failed cheery expression. "Aren't you the least bit excited about school? It will really be a great experience." She tried to encourage me. "I know, I know, I guess I'm just nervous more than excited." I wasn't very excited at all though, but I couldn't hurt her feelings. I couldn't make her feel bad, after all there was nothing she could do. I had to get an education some how. "I thought we could go shopping today for some new clothes." She added. "Yeah, that would be nice." I smiled. I didn't really even care much about the clothes, I just wanted to spend some time with her. "Great. You go get dressed and ready and we'll leave in an hour." She said, while clearing our plates from the table.
I went up to my room, and picked out a pair of jean shorts and a white v-neck. Simple enough. I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and I threw my hair into a messy bun. I don't feel like dealing with it today. But then again, I never do. I decided to clean up my room a little to pass the time, so I made my bed and organized my desk a little. "Olivia, ready to go?" My mother called up to me. "Yep." I said, grabbing my phone and wallet.
We drove to the outlets, a 10 minute drive from my house, where it was swarming with teenagers and their parents, buying new clothes and shoes and supplies for school. I forgot it was everyone else's first day of school tomorrow too. I will probably see 80% of these kids tomorrow at school. We went in and out of different stores, and by the time we were finished, I was holding onto 6 different bags. "Mom, I think this is good." I laughed. "Okay, okay. You know how much I love shopping. Why don't we go grab a coffee? I could really use one now." She suggested. "Yeah sure, I could too." I replied. We went to the coffee shop that was near the parking lot that was crowded with teens and adults, all drinking coffee or eating donuts. We stood in line for a few minutes, and I watched all the other kids who were in the shop. I watched them hanging out with their friends, examining their clothes and hair and everything. It sounds creepy, but I was just curious, that's all. I was interrupted from my gaze by my mom tapping on my shoulder. "Honey, tell the boy what you want." I turned to speak, only to see the rude, tattooed boy who I met yesterday standing behind the counter. "I, uh, I'll have a, um, iced mocha regular please." I blurted out. "Ok..." He looked annoyed. He makes it pretty obvious that he isn't enjoying his time here. He left from behind to counter to go make our coffees. "Here ya go. $4.05 is your total." He said like he could care less. We stood there waiting while my mom fumbled around in her purse. "Hey, you look familiar." He stated. "Uh, yeah...we met yesterday. I returned your dog when he ran away...We're kinda neighbors.." I kept adding on because it doesn't seem like he was remembering me that well. "Oh, right. I forgot." He said, with a sassy tone. Really? It was yesterday? We talked for a solid 5 minutes, how do you forget a conversation you had just yesterday? Dick. Okay, maybe it wasn't a conversation, but it was a solid encounter. I sure as hell remembered him. My mom handed him the money and I walked away fast.

     ✖Chapter
    1✖
I was scared. Scared is an understatement. I have been homeschool
for the past 17 years, and now my mom decides to throw me into a
public school. I was angry with her. I know deep down it's not
her fault that she finally got a full time job and just doesn't
have the time anymore, but I need someone to blame for my angered
and sad emotions. I had bit my tongue when she told me, restraining
myself from the hateful words that crossed my mind. If only my dad
hadn't left us. We wouldn't be struggling with money. My
mom wouldn't have to dedicate all her time to a full time job
just to support us both. My father is the one who I should be angry
    at.
School starts in exactly 2 days. My mom told me a week ago. She
said she didn't want me worrying the entire summer. I love her
for that. For always caring about how I feel, I mean. I know so
many people have much more complicated problems then I do now, but
just because my problem may seem smaller doesn't mean it's
not a problem? A new school. New people. New life pretty much. What
I'm used to is about to change completely. I'm not worried
much about the academics, since my mom has been an amazing teacher,
but I'm more worried about the social aspect of high school.
What if no one likes me? What if I am made fun of because I am not
like everyone else? I've never had to deal with b/itches
before, what if I can't at all?
I decided to drag myself out of bed before my own thoughts destroy
me. I stopped in front of my full length mirror. My chocolate brown
hair fell just above my butt. Boy do I need a haircut, I thought. I
was pretty confident in my appearance. I had fairly tanned skin
from the summer, and my brown hair complimented my matching brown
eyes. I recently lost 23 pounds over the past few months, and I was
feeling proud of myself. I look thin, fit, healthy. It made me
happy. Will I still have this self confidence with me when I see
all the other girls at school? What were they even like? I
didn't have many friends, being home schooled and all made that
pretty tough. It's not as easy as you think to just go up to
someone and start talking to them when they are a complete
stranger. My mom was pretty much the only person I was close to,
besides my cousin Lena. Only problem is that she lives 8 hours
    away.
I quickly brushed my teeth. I braided my hair down my back and
because I'm lazy, I threw on athletic shorts and a v-neck
before going downstairs. Who would I be trying to impress, my mom?
Who I found out was not even home. A note on the counter read
"Olivia, I'm meeting with my new manager and his secretary
about work stuff. There's eggs and bread in the fridge if you
want to make french toast. Love you." It made me upset that
she was going to be consumed with a new job from here on out. I
whipped up some french toast and slowly ate it in little bites. I
had nothing to do today, like usual. I gulped down some OJ and
threw on my nike sneakers. I was feeling stressed about school, and
runs usually help relieve me of my stress.
I walked outside with my phone, headphones, and a water. I
stretched out a little and started on a slow jog. As soon as I
turned the corner, there was some commotion going on in front of a
house. I saw moving trucks, and people carrying boxes into the
house. Someone finally bought that overpriced house, I thought to
myself. I continued to jog slowly by, watching the people who
looked like busy bees going to and from the moving trucks. New
neighbors, how wonderful. I just hope they aren't loud partyers
like the last couple that moved in to the house 2 down from us. I
continued jogging when I came across a small golden retriever that
was wandering along the street. Is he a stray? No, he looks to
clean. Plus he seems to have a collar on him. "Hey
buddy." I said to him, crouching down. He came right over.
I've always wanted a dog, but my mom is allergic. I started
petting the dog and I grabbed his collar, looking at the tags for a
phone number or address. The address read 17 Keebler Road on what
looked like a fresh, newly made tag hanging from his collar. Funny.
That's the house with the new neighbors moving in. I walked
with the dog, holding onto his collar, back to the house. I walked
up, unsure who to talk to. There wasn't really anyone in sight
besides the employees helping move boxes from the trucks. "Um,
excuse me." I asked a man who worked with the moving company.
"I found this dog and I think it belongs to the owners of this
house. Where can I find them?" Before the employee could
answer, a guy walked around the corner of the truck. "So you
found Charlie, huh." My eyes shifted to the boy, with an
intriguing appearance. He looked about my age, maybe a year or two
older, with tattoos plastered all over his arms, trailing up his
neck as well. He had his ears pierced and wore rings on his
fingers. He wore a gray beanie and a white tank top, with dark
skinny jeans and converse. I was slightly taken back by his
appearance, since I had never seen anyone look like this before.
Not in person at least. "Uh, yeah, he was wandering along the
streets, and I saw him while I was on a jog.." I said, still
fascinated by the boys tattoos. "I assume you live in this
    neighborhood then?" he asked abrubtly.
"Yeah, I live around the corner." I said, as sweetly as possible. "Oh." He seemed moody. Typical 'bad boy' act I guess. Is this how all the boys are? Attractive a/ssholes. He turned around and started walking away.
"A thank you would've been nice..." I mumbled under my breath as I turned around.
I quickly jogged back to my house, checking the time on my phone.
12:23pm. Once I got back in my house, I went upstairs to my room
and into my bathroom, and took a shower. I let the cool water run
down my hair and back, trying to forget that I have to start school
in 2 days. Less than 48 hours away. I sighed as I shut the water
off. I thought about my encounter with the boy earlier today. I
don't even know his name? Why didn't I ask for his name?
Why am I so awkward? He probably thinks I'm a freak. He's
probably laughing about me with his friends right now. Great.
School hasn't even started for me and I already managed to make
an embarrassing first impression to a guy who I can't deny is
    attractive.

I'm beyond sorry to say that I don't think I can continue this sequel. Pretty much because I don't think anyone, including me, has time aside from school to keep up with it. I've realized how busy I am with sports/school/homework. I'd be lucky to be able to come onto witty once a week. I'm really sorry and maybe I can pick up the story this summer. I won't be on this account as much. You can hate me, but I still love you. <3 Thank you lovely readers.

    *Sequel to Getting the Guy*
    ∞ Chapter 1 ∞
We followed the usual formation, walk in, take a right, go up two flights of stairs, except this time, we head into the sophomore hallway. Each grade has their own hallway of classrooms and lockers, but occasionally you'll find a classroom for sophomores at the corner of the freshman hallway. We have two teams, Team Y and Team B, and the kids are divided up between each team. You only have academic classes with the people on your team, and for specials, like gym, art, music, they mix both teams together. We lined up and sat down along the hallway waiting to hear our homerooms. Me and Dalton are usually in the same homeroom each year, if we're on the same team, since our names are so close in letters. Harris, and Hayes. We waited through until they got to the H's and lucky enough we were in the same homeroom. #321. We got up and followed the teacher to their room, who was going to be our new homeroom teacher. Her name was Mrs. Kalton, and she looked fairly young, late 20s or early 30s maybe, short brown hair, small glasses with pink flowers on the side, and brown eyes. We followed her to room 321 and took our seats, with me and Dalton sitting next to each other. I looked around and saw a few familiar faces, but no one I was too close with. I had gotten the chance to get close with anybody besides Molly and her friends, Alexa, Caty, and Jailyn (pronounced Jay-Lyn). I was the most close with Molly, next to Caty, and was only pretty good friends with the other two. I was snapped back into reality by Mrs. Kilton's voice. "Okay, so as Mr. Clark said, I'm Mrs. Kilton." Mr. Clark is our principle. "You're all on Team Y. I'll be assigning lockers and schedueles right now, and you'll be with me for first period." She called up each student one by one, and gave us our locker combinations and schedueles. "Paisley Harris" she called. I stood up and walked to her desk. She gave me a small slip with my locker and its combo, then she handed me a piece of paper with my classes on them. I said a quick thank you and sat down. She called one more kid before calling Dalton up. He came back and we compared lockers and schedules. Our lockers are one apart, mines 104 and his is 106. The only thing between us is a shy, new kid named Micheal, but I guess his nickname is Mikey. I was happy we were close enough to talk to each other without yelling across the hall. I found out we had Algebra, Social Studies, and English together. We also had art and a study together. I was satisfied with my schedule and locker, since it could've been worse. I could've had no classes with him, or been on a separate team, or had our lockers 50 more apart from each other. "You can go unload your books and what not into your locker now. Follow me." We followed her out the door into the sophomore hallway and found our lockers. I opened my easy. 11 to the left, 29 to the right, and 5 to the left again. It clicked and opened. I threw my books on the shelf and hung my backpack on the hook. I searched the hallway to see who was near me. My locker was on the end, and on the other side was Mikey. All of the suddon, I recognized the over expensive shoes, mini skirt, and the straight brown hair...Molly. Her locker was a little bit further down the hallway, on the oposite side, but was still fairly close, too close. Hoping she wouldn't notice me, I set up my locker within a few minutes and went over to Dalton's locker. It was organized, unlike mine. "Ooooh nice, its clean and stuff." "Hah, why, what's yours look like?" "Messy already I guess." He finished and closed his locker and we made our way back to our homeroom.

    *Sequel to Getting the Guy*
    ∞ Prologue ∞
I took steps forward closer and closer to the school, hand in hand with Dalton. I suddenly felt butterflies released through my stomach, and I felt like turning back around and running home, but I restrained myself from looking anything but calm and collected. We weren't even in school yet and we were already getting looks. As long as were both happy, I thought to myself. I turned my head to Dalton to see if he looked as nervous as I was, but he had on a glowing smile, greeting anyone who looked at us. I know I shouldn't care what other people think, but it's hard not to in high school. It was about 7:20 and we had 10 minutes to hang out outside before we went in to the building to start the day. I spotted my group of 'friends' before they spotted me, and I tried to tug Dalton around them so we would be out of sight from them, but I was too late. Molly, the "leader" spotted us and stopped talking for a second to squint. Dalton must have noticed what I saw too, because he said "Chill out" with a laugh. I took a deep breath when Molly and her group of friends followed behind as they walked towards us. I squeezed his hand and acted like nothing was wrong. Molly looked the same as she did before summer started, with her straight brown hair just below her shoulders and electric blue eyes. Her hair was naturally wavy, but shes burnt it more then enough by straightening it. We stared for a second at each other before I said the first words. "Hi.." I gave a sweet, but fake smile. I'm sure she could sense I was trying to separate from the group by not making an effort to talk to her this whole summer. "Hmm...hi Paisley." she said, examining my clothes, hair, makeup, and shoes. She's extremely judgmental. If I were to describe her in a few words, they would be heavy makeup, straight hair, short skirts/shorts, shirts that could fit a 6 year old, and over expensive shoes. She used to say she has a "reputation" to maintain. "Whose this." she pretty much demanded. "This is Dalton." He gave a quick smile. "Dalton who? Is he new." I was afraid her rudeness would hurt him, but he just stared straight back at her. Before I could answer, he replied for himself. "Dalton Hayes. And, no, I'm not new." he said, the least bit afraid of them, like he was last year. "Oh, hah, you're the frea- I mean, you're the quiet kid." She laughed with her friends behind her. She had done that on purpose, she knew who he was, and she was trying to offend him. "Not anymore!" he said with an edge of imitation in his voice, and I fought back a laugh. Molly was shut down immediately, and clearly had no comeback to that, so she pretended to get a text message, and pulled out her phone. The bell rang and we pushed right through them to the doors. They seemed startled at mine and his confidence. I knew I left them standing there, astounded at who I became over the summer, and who Dalton had become to. I didn't bother to look back, but I thought I heard Molly let out a gasp before I took steps into the school to start another year.

    Getting the Guy
    ღEPILOGUEღ
    ******FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL******
My alarm went off 6:00am sharp. I could barely sleep last night, with all the first day of school nerves. I hopped in the shower and washed my hair with strawberry smelling shampoo, and washed my face with a morning burst facial cleanser. I picked out a while floral half-sleeve shirt and a pair of dark jean shorts. I pulled black sandals out from my closet and tried them on to make sure they still fit from when I got them at the beginning of the summer. I went downstairs and blended fruits with yogurt and made a breakfast smoothie. My mom was on her way out the door and she turned to give me a kiss on the forehead and a 'Good luck!' before running out. I went upstairs to brush and floss my teeth, before debating if I should go straight or curly. I decided on straightening my hair. I sprayed heat protection spray before running the flat iron through my hair till it was thoroughly straight. I took a piece of hair from under neath my ears on each side of my head and braided each piece. I then criss-crossed the two pieces over to top of my head so the ends met the other ear, and pinned them down. It was a braided headband, made of my own hair. I sprayed a little bit of hair spray to keep it in place. I looked through my tote bag to make sure I had all the supplies I needed. Notebooks, binders, pencils and pens, etc. It was almost 7. I quickly but neatly perfected my makeup and slung my tote over my shoulder. I ran down the stairs and grabbed the 3$ for lunch money before stopping at the door making sure I had everything. I started my way to the bus stop, and I saw Dalton there waiting for me. We were placed on the same bus and bus stop this year. "Hey." he smiled and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. "Hi." I sweetly smiled. "You nervous?" he asked. "Obviously! Who isn't nervous on the first day of school." I laughed. "Well, I'm not too nervous because it ends up being the same every year." I raised my eye brows at him, considering his statement. "Truee I guess.." I had the urge to ask him something. Was it the right time? Would I sound weird asking? I had completely forgot about the side of Dalton, where he was quiet during class. I thought about our different friends, what would they think of us? "What do you think people will say?" I blurted out. He thought for a second. "Well..are you happy with us being together?" "Yes.." I answered. "And I'm happy too, right? So that's all that should matter. If you're friends turn on you, then you'll have me." His words gave me some relief. "I guess your right" I said. "You GUESS I'm right??" He smirked. "Ok, ok, you ARE right." I said, playfully punching his arm. "And plus, I'm much much more confident now that I have you. I'm not letting anyone push me around this year." He did seem more confident like he said. We were lost in such a conversation that I could barely hear the bus pulling up. We stepped on and said a quick 'good morning' to the usual bus driver before taking our seats with each other. We were getting a few looks, but not too bad. I was really only nervous for my group of so-called 'friends' to give a reaction. I knew it would be either really bad or really good. They would either take Dalton into the 'popular group' or they would kick me out, not that I wouldn't leave anyway. They can be so rude sometimes, and if I think about it, none of my 'friends' were ever there for me when I needed it. We arrived at the school and I got butterflies in my stomach. We stood up from our seats and walked down the bus aisle. I murmured a 'thanks' to the bus driver before taking the steps of the bus, and joining hands with Dalton. Here goes the start to my sophomore year.

This is for all my readers who didn't get a comment on their profile recently asking them to check out my website:
Well, I made a website for this story account, so I was wondering if you guys would all check it out!(: It has a lot of things, like story information (info you should probably know about what's going on), the notification list, the links to all of the chapters ever posted, and a survey about me writing a sequel.
If you could please check it out, that would be great. (:

    Getting the Guy
    ღChapter 24ღ
I had gone home later because my mom was calling me for dinner. We ordered pizza and I went up to my room, only to be called down again by my mother. She was talking on the phone with one of her good friends. After she hung up she turned to me and said, "Hmm. Don't you know someone with the last name of Conley?" I shivered a little bit. That's Brennen's last name. Did she know? Did she know what happened? How would she? "Yes..." I said slowly, my mouth going dry. "Well, my friend Isabell is neighbors with them, and she said they're moving to California! I thought you knew someone with that last name, so I thought I should mention it." I stood there wide-eyed. "Uhm.....nope...I don't know anyone.." I thought for a second and asked a follow-up question. "Where does your friend Isabell live?" My mom pushed her hair aside. "I think they're neighborhood is right across from the Hayes's." I was in disbelief. "Ok, I think I hear my phone ringing upstairs." and with that, I ran up. I called Dalton. "Helloo?" he answered. "Is it true?! Are they moving?!" I shouted. "What, what?! Who? What are you talking about?" I took a breath. "Is Brennen really moving to California?!" There was silence over the phone. "WHAT?! Is he really?!" he sounded just as schocked/excited as I sounded. "Yeah, yeah, my mom's friend is neighbors with them, and she told my mom!!" I was practically jumping up and down over the phone. "That's awesome! He'll be out of our way!" "I know, I know." I laughed then said, "Alright, well I gotta go, we'll hang out tomorrow?" I asked. "Yeah sure just call me or text me." "Sureee, bye." and I ended the call.
    *****a week or two later*****
I was over Dalton's and we were sitting in his front yard, watching all the moving trucks come in and out of the neighborhood across from us. They carried all of Brennen's and his family's possesions. I smiled as each truck made its way out of here, and after a while, I saw the Conley's car coming towards the end of the road, leaving the house that was once their home. I wanted to get up and sarcastically wave to the car, or make faces at it, but I resisted. Him leaving all the way across the country was enough. I couldn't believe that summer was pretty much over. I turned back to Dalton and sat right next to him, practically on his lap, and we just sat there. Like we did on the lake when we pretty much just met. I turned back and looked once again at his perfect features. His teeth, his eyes, his hair. Everything about him was perfect in my view. He touched his hand to my face. It was like the lake all over again. I would re-live those moments a thousand times if I could. He tilted his head in, and I tilted mine, and once again, before I knew it, his soft lips were pressed against mine and it felt like the whole world around us stopped moving. Once we separated we just layed back on the blanket in the grass, and I closed my eyes, satisfied with my life.

"Oh my god, what did you do?!" he took a breath of relief and waiting for my story. "Sit down. I'll tell you it." I laughed as we sat down in his living room. I told him all about me with the fake act, the fake cough, sending him down for water, and making a run for it with my phone. "That was brilliant. You had me worried sick this whole time." he said once I finished explaining. "Now what" he asked me. "I guess I call him. And tell him its over." I picked up my phone and dialed the number while shaking. He answered after a few rings. "Paisley what was that?!" he yelled through the speaker. "Listen Brennen." I said more firm then meant to. "Its over." "What???" he had heard what I said he just couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Do you need me to spell it out? ITS O-V-E-R." I half shouted into the phone. "No, you can't do that. You know what I have. I'll expose you, to everyone." I gave a small sarcastic laugh before saying "No. You won't. You can't." and hitting the end button before I got a response.
    Brennen's P.O.V.
I was getting angry at her. "No you can't do that. You know what I have. I'll expose you, to everyone." I knew I won this battle, then I heard her give a small laugh before saying "No. You won't. You can't." I raised my eyebrows, confused, about to ask questions when I heard her end the call by the press of the button. I had no idea what she meant. She knows I have all her secrets written down with me. You won't. You can't. Suddenly, her words registered in my mind. It was impossible, if what I was thinking was right. I stormed up the stairs quickly and ran straight to my pillow case. I pulled the cold metal keys out and put them on the desk as I went into my closet and dragged out the chest. I slid the key into place and twisted before hearing a "click!" and popping the top open. I removed the top cover and pulled out all my baseball cards, trophees, etc. I searched the whole box and there was no sign of the notebook. I was ready to pull my hair out. I was ready to drive over there and give her a piece of my mind. I heard the front door open and close. Usually my mom is home first, but this time I heard both my mom and dad come in, talking quietly to each other. I was still raging with anger, when I heard them call my name. "Brennen!! Come down here!!" I came down the stairs and they were standing in the living room. "Please take a seat." they told me. I sat down on the comfy pale couch and slouched back. "What." I said with attitude. I wasn't very happy at the moment. They took a seat across from me. "Well.." my mom started. "Listen. I know this is going to be tough, but your father has gotten a new promotion." I raised one eye brow. "Thats great...?" I said starting to get up. "No no, sit." she ordered me as nicely as she could. "The thing is, it's in California...Brennen, honey, we're moving to California."

    Getting the Guy
    ღChapter 20ღ
I forced my self to take steps forward. His house look as it usually did, cold and unhomely. Normally the big chandelear hanging over head in his living room is lit up, but not this time, no electricity to power it. I slowly walked towards the steps that lead up to the top floor, where his bedroom is. I remembered to move quickly, so I picked up my pace. I felt like a spy. I turned the doornob on his bedroom door and took a step inside. I looked around, before I saw his phone on his bed. He must've forgot it when he left to go where ever he was going. I picked it up and slid the arrow to unlock it. Enter your passcode. Shiiiittt. I tried his birthyear. 1995. It unlocked. Was he really that stupid to pick something so easy? I laughed to myself. I opened up his messages. The messages at the top were to a girl named Maria. I opened them up, not feeling guilty at all. They just said to meet up at 11-12:30...today. So that's where he went. I should've figured, there was just no time to give it a thought. I was looking through his other messages, when I heard a door open and shut. Not the front door, no, but the side door in his kitchen. Without hesitating, I crouched on my hands and knees and slid under his bed. I had no idea which family member it would be, or if it was Brennen. I heard footsteps come up the stairs, but I swear my heart beat was louder. I tried to contain my panting, as the footsteps got closer and closer. I recognized the shoes, and they were Brennen's. I heard him flick a switch. "What the hell is up with the power" he mumbled as he walked towards the bed. I knew he came back for his phone. I was nervous he would suspect something. Like someone was in his house. I tried to stay completely still as he left his room. I waited a few minutes after I heard the door shut to come out. I was 10x more scared now. I forgot about Dalton. He's probably wondering why I'm taking so long, and I'm lucky he didn't call me and set my ringtone off while Brennen was in the house. I called him quickly. "Dalton, hey, Brennen just came in the house!" "I know, I saw him leaving! I was watching the front door, and I think he came in the side!" he told me. "Is the coast clear now?" "Yeah he just pulled out a minute ago! Hurry" "Alright" I said as I hung up. I pulled myself up, still shaken from what just happened. I went over to his closet. I open the doors, and pushed aside the clothing hanging up, and found just what I was looking for. The chest. I pulled it out from the closet, and it was fairly heavy and sized. Maybe the size of a suitcase. I reached to open it, when I saw.....there was a lock on it. I cussed under my breathe as I threw myself up and started shuffling through his desk draws. I walked over to his bed and reached under his pillow case, then inside it, and I felt cold medal touch my hands. I grasped the keys and pulled them out. I ran to the chest, and slid the key in the lock and twisted it. I heard I click and the chest popped open. There was a top shelf looking piece over it. I crossed my fingers as I removed the piece.

"Sounds like a plan." he said. My phone rang with a text from my mom. 'Dinners almost ready, come on home :)' "My mom's telling me to come home, so I better go." We hugged and after he pulled me in for an unexpected kiss. After, he walked me down to the door, and I said goodbye to his parents and thank you for having me over. "Bye" I smiled at him before turning and making my way home. When I got home, I ate the dinner my mom made me, and I went off to get ready for bed. I checked up on my twitter for a while, and the time flew. Before I knew it, it was almost 10pm. I had better go to bed early, I don't want to be tired for tomorrow. I could barely sleep, I was nervous but excited. It was like the night before the first day of school. I managed to doze off by 11pm.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I woke up at 9am, and checked my phone for any texts. I had one from Dalton. 'Wanna meet up around 10:50, we can go to his house together around like 11:15?' 'Yeah sure :) can't wait, omg' I replied. 'same here, i'll see you then :)' I took a shower, and then picked out a pink tank from Victoria's Secret with the black words love pink across the top in cursive, and the number 86 printed big, in sparkles. I chose a simple pair of jean shorts, and black flip flops. I did a light pink glitter eyeshadow, and black mascara. I applied a thin coat of clear lipgloss to give my lips a shine. I brushed my hair and straigtened it. I pulled in into a high pony tail and let it fall down on my back. I went downstairs to eat some waffles before I went to go brush my teeth. It was almost 10:50 by the time I finished getting ready. 'on my way' I texted as I walked the route I had memorized from yesterday to his house. I rang the doorbell when I got there and he answered, looking clean cut as usual. "Come on in." he smiled at me. "My parents are at work right now, so it's just us here." "Cool." I sat in his living room as we reviewed the plans for today, and it was about 11:10. "Lets go." I suggested. I shoved the key in my pocket, as he put a screw driver in his. "What's the screw driver for.....?" I asked, confused. "To open the electrical box, duh!" he said in a girl teenage voice. I laughed, "oh shutup" I smirked. Brennen is practically neighbors with Dalton, his neighborhood is across from Dalton's. We crossed the street and walked up to the familiar house of Brennen's. "I have your number on speed dial, you have mine, right?" I made sure of. "Yep." he said. "Let's go find the electrical box." he said, trying to work as fast as we could. I wanted to get out of here right away. "Over here." I gestured and he unscrewed it. He flipped all the switches and it looked as the whole house was dead." "Ok..you stay here while I go in. Keep watch. Call me if anything suspicious happens." "Sure thing" I walked to the front door and slid the key into place. I took a deep breath as I rotated the key in the lock, and turned the doornob.

"Well, I guess we'll have to be extra careful, and not put anything out of place. Make sure it looks the same as it was when we got there..and I guess we'll look for an open window to get in?" He suggested answers to my first two questions. "Wait!" I sort of shouted, and it startled him. "I just remembered! He gave me a key earlier this year!" I exclaimed. "Are you serious? Oh my god, that's great!" Dalton laughed with joy. It was good to see him happy. "And I guess I might have some idea's where he'll keep the notebook?" I said. "But what about the camera's?" he asked, slightly frowning. "Well, that one might be a little risky, but I have some ideas.." "Well, say em'!" he waited for my answer. "Camera's need the electricity to run off of right?" I asked. "yeah..." he said. "So, without electricity, they can't run, can they?" I asked, already knowing his answer "Yeah.." he said. I could tell he was starting to catch on with where I was going with this. "So, the idea is that you mess with the power switches in the electrical box outside of his house. It's located around the corner on the left side of his house I think." I couldn't tell if he was agreeing or not with me by his expressions. I was waiting for his approval. "It might just work.." he smiled. "Yes!" I jumped up and gave him a hug. "But we need to be legit about this. This isn't a game." he reminded me. "I know, I know, legit. Right." I immitated the word 'legit' in his voice, and we laughed. He punched my shoulder playfully. We talked over the plans. Ok, so step 1, you need to cut off the electricity to power down the camera's. He'll have no proof we were ever there. "Right." he agreed. "Step 2, I use my key to get in his house. You need to watch guard outside, and call my cell if anything happens. He'll be out from 11 to 12:30ish, so we'll do it then. I know his parents have work everyday from 8am to 4. So no one should be home. Step 3, I'll search his room. I have an idea of where he will be keeping it." "Where do you think it will be then?" Dalton asked. "He keeps his important things in a little box in the back of his walk in closet. I've seen it, but not inside it. I'll look there. If it's not there I'll check other places, such as inside his desk, under his bed or pillow, you know. Then, when I get it, or if I get it-" I paused, suddenly thinking about what would happen if I didn't get it. "But, Dalton, what if-" he already knew what I was thinking. "Don't you dare even think like that. We will get it. I promise." He reassured me. "Ok..anyway, once I get it, we turn the electricity back on, and go back to my house, or your house. And we destroy it!" Thinking about the plan made me even more excited to get back at Brennen, the boy who ruined a part of me and my life.

20 minutes went by faster then I thought it would. I went downstairs to ask my mom to drive me. "Mom, do you think you could drive me to....here." I said as I showed her the address in the text message. "Honey, me and your father are really busy unpacking, it's right down the road. You can just walk there if it's important." "Yeah..sure." I sighed, brushing it off. "Can you just tell me how to get there?" I asked her. "Yeah sure, just go to the end of our street, take a right. Walk a little bit further, and take your first left. That's the street! Where are you going anyway?" No point in lying to her about this. "Dalton's house." "Oh, great! You too are so cute together!" I didn't even know she thought of us like that! "Mom!" I blushed. "What, it's beyond obvious." My mom gave a chuckle with a smile. I kind of felt like she was more of my bestfriend than my mom right now, and I liked it. I like it when she's laid back. "I'll be back later, text me when dinner is almost ready. Love you!" I said as I slid my phone in my back pocket and closed the front door. I made my way, trying my best to remember my mom's directions. I took my first left, and was on his street. I matched the address with the one in the text, and was amazed to look up at a mansion. You could fit 3 of my house in his, and my house is pretty well sized! I walked up on the stone steps, and rang the gold doorbell. I could hear Dalton's mom yell to him. "Dalton, Paisley is here!" "Coming!" Dalton answered the door moments later. "Hi, comon upstairs." he smiled his bright white smile. "Sure..." I looked around at the spiral stair case, and granite counters. "Oh hi Paisley!" Mrs. Hayes flashed me a smile, as perfect as Dalton's. "Hi!" I smiled back as I followed Dalton behind the carpeted stairway. We got to his room, a little bit bigger than mine, and we sat on the bed. "Wow, uhm, you didn't tell me you were...-" I fumbled for the right word, but gave up. "rich...." I said looking around his room. "I didn't think it mattered." he said simply. "Who I am doesn't depend on the amount of money my parents have." he said. I looked around his clean and neat room. It was a very nice house. And when I say very nice, I mean very nice.
    Dalton's P.O.V.
I had almost forgot the reason she was here. Obviously to hang out, but also to come up with a plan. A brilliant idea had struck me on the way home, but I wanted to wait till' I was with her before I explained it. "Paisley!" I eagerly said. I got her attention. "Sit! I forgot! I have a plan.." She looked as eager as I was to hear as I was to tell it. "Go for it" she smirked waiting to hear. "So. Remember how you said that Brennen has a terrible memory?" "Yeah.." she waited. "And you said that he wrote everything down in only a notebook that he has somewhere in his room?" she looked at me, wondering where I was going with this. "Yeah...so?" "Sooo, all we need to do is get into his room, find that book, and destroy it. Rip it apart. Burn it. Whatever it takes to diminish the contents of it!" I waited for her response to my idea. "Dalton, that's brilliant!" she laughed with joy. "But..1. How will we get into his house without him knowing..2. How are we going to get in...3. How will we find the book...4.he has camera's all over his house. His parents have been paranoid ever since they're house got robbed.." she explained, her smile fading. I hadn't realized that there was that many downsides to it. "Well..its not a complete plan, but we can work off of it!" I said. I had a few ideas of how we would get around the barriers, they just needed some work.

    ღChapter 16ღ
We separated back to our campsites. As I got back, my parents were up like I suspected. We had to be out of there at 12, and it was like 10ish. We were in no rush, we can pack up quick since there's only 3 of us. "Paisley, please help pack away the food." I sighed. "Sure.." I wasn't in the mood for helping, as rude as that sounds, but I did it anyway. My mom is the kind of person you wouldn't want to talk back to. I also packed my clothes up out of my cabinet. After we finished packing up the food, and we took down the beds, and folded the blankets we put everything in the car. We looked around our campsite one more time to see if we dropped anything, and we were ready. We got into the car and I texted Dalton. 'Leaving now, hby?' We stopped the office to check out, and Dalton texted me back 'We're leaving in 5. Text me when you get back.' I sent a 'k!' back and put my headphones in my ears. I selected a song, and then just put my iPod on shuffle. I closed my eyes. I was exhausted. I barely got any sleep, so I'll have to replace it within this car ride. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I woke up right as we we're getting off the highway. Do you ever go to sleep in your car, then you wake up when you're just about 5 minutes away from your house? It's like you can sense it in your sleep. I do it all the time, every time. My mind wakes me up, it's pretty cool, like my own alarm. It felt good to be back in a familiar area. We finally pulled into my driveway, and I got out to stretch my legs. I asked for the keys from my dad so I could let myself in while they unpacked things from the car. I went upstairs to my room, and put my phone and iPod down on my bed. I went back downstairs to grab my bag of clothes and other things I brought. I help bring in some of the food, then I went upstairs to unpack. I neatly folded the still clean clothes and put them away, and I threw the dirty clothes in a hamper. My phone started ringing. 'I'm home.' from Dalton. 'Do you want to hang out at one of our houses?' I sent it. 'Sure, in 20 minutes. I just need time to unpack :) we can hang out at my house.' 'Ok, greattt! I'll text you when I'm on my way. What's your address?' I had never seen or been to Dalton's house. I was a little bit nervous. He replied with an address and I texted him a 'k!' as I neatened up my makeup and hair.
