My dad is an alcoholic, no worries. He used to beat me up when I was younger because him and my mom divorced when I was 3 and a half. So she got all custody taken away by the time I was 11 because she was so tired of me coming home with bruises because to be quite honest with you.. He is an angry drunk, even to this day. At the age of 17, I just stay away. I'll be 18 here in a few months and I've given him plenty of chances. Sometimes our parents mess up while raising us, I know my dad did. I haven't stayed for a weekend since I was about 12, haven't told him I love him since I was 13, and the last time I saw him was 2 days before my 17th birthday last October. I know deep down I'm really hurt, because I have PTSD from the physical abuse I endured as a young child. But he's still my dad, just like your dad is still your dad. No one will ever change that.
