THE CHASE~ 3
*Four months later*
It’s now summer. 2010. It is slightly breezy out, but nothing too bad. I have on Alex’s “Supreme” snapback, a see through white short-sleeve shirt, and a lime green bikini. I’m sitting on the beach reading The Hunger Games, a book my friend introduced to me to. My eyes scanned the words, reading every single one there was. “Scores only matter if they’re very good; no one pays much attention to the bad or mediocre ones.” Right as I read that line, the book was removed from my hands. I grabbed for it, wanting to know what happened next.
“Hey, Ms. Bookworm, I know you like to read and all, but we’re at a beach. Can we please go swimming?” Alex said, motioning to the water ahead.
I let out an irritated (yet exaggerated) sigh, and got up, removing my hat and shirt. He jumped to his feet and ran towards the water. I chased him happily, laughing with every step. He picked me up effortlessly and I thought back to the first day we met. I felt weightless again. He threw me up in the air and I’d come flying back down. He caught me in less than a second. I wrapped my arms tightly around him, and clung to him like I was a monkey or something. He laughed and lifted his feet from the ground, sinking into the water. I felt my legs get wet, and then my stomach, then I was underwater. He kissed me underwater and I couldn’t help but smile.
