Chapter 4
I walked in school, and there was surprisingly someone in my seat. “Umm. Exc-“ He interrupted me. “This is your seat, right? I’ll go get another seat.” He said in this soothing voice. He was really good-looking. He seemed really nice. “Hi, Mike.” Mr. Axel said. “You can sit behind Lucy. No one sits there.” I realized that I was starting to twirl my hair around him. I don’t usually do that.
He walked up to me after class. “Hi, I’m Mike.” Oh my gosh, he’s really cute. “Hi, I’m Lucy. You just moved here right?” “Yeah, I just moved here from North Carolina, my dad got a job transfer.” I realized that I was starting to twirl my hair again. “That’s cool. Well what classes are you taking, maybe we have more together.” He handed me his schedule and I compared them. “Nope, you’re only in my English class.” I said. “Well maybe we can hang out soon.” I literally wanted to start jumping for joy when he said that. “That would be great. I’d really like that” I told him.
School finally ended and I walked home.
As I was walking home, I got a text message.

Oh my gosh! Not T again. I’m really starting to get scared.
When I got home, my there was a basket on the kitchen table. Give this to the new neighbors. I saw them unpacking today with the moving van and said hello. They seem pretty nice. Introduce yourself and give this to them –Mom
I was walking up their driveway and I saw the front door open. Oh my god! It was Mike. He’s our new neighbor! We spoke a little while and I handed him the basket. “Umm… this is going to sound really weird, but…I think you’re really pretty and was wondering if you wanted to go on a date tomorrow night. “ Yes! I don’t have cheerleading! “I’d love to. Where?” “I was thinking maybe Mary’s. You like Italian, right?” “That’s great. I love Italian.” “Pick you up at 7, kay?” “Okay, see you tomorrow!” Oh my gosh! This was going to be amazing! I know we’re going to have a great time! This is going to be so much fun!
I walked home and got a call from Lexi. She was hysterical on the phone, but I wasn’t sure about what. “Okay, stop crying so I could understand what you’re saying.” She started crying even harder. Lexi isn’t a crier either. I barely ever see her cry. This is the second time in a while truthfully. I finally got her to calm down after about thirty minutes.”My mom’s in the hospital, She Harry told me she went into pre-mature labour, but I don’t think so. It hasn’t even been eight monthes.” Harry is Lexi’s mom’s boyfriend. They’ve been dating for about 4 years now. I had Lexi come over my house so she would calm down better, and it worked too. That is, until she got a call on her cell phone. Drrrinngg,,,, drrriinnggg!!! “Hello?....Harry… Yeah…That’s impossible!!!..... This can’t be happening!!!... Bye..” I was frantic. She was literally in tears. “What’s wrong darling?” I asked her. “My..my mom… has… cancer.”
