seriously i think you have been handling this very well so far, its good you didnt lie to him and like lead him on about the situation.
sometimes you have to think about yourself too, like if you would have lied to him and said you did like him, you wouldnt have been happy..and he would have kept liking you more so then sooner or later when he figured out you never liked him like that he will be hurt even more.
just tell him, that you liked what we had, that we could be good friends and just that..and your sorry for not liking him. but technically its not your fault you dont like him.

ugh im in the same situation.. only the guy isnt depressed.. all ive been doing is aviod tell him if i like hin or dont like him back.. anyway it was definitely the right thing to do wwen u tld him how u rlu felt nd nayb u werent trying to lead him on he just misinterpreted everything.. but just tell him tht hes a great guy but the connection just isnt there nd tht it wuldnt work out.. ether. way hell be hurt but let him know tht u still like him as a friend nd tht u hope u can still b friends... i rly hope this helpss :] good luck

heres some advice!
ok so this happened to me last year sept well, my quote' "Bob" wasn't that depressed. Anyways. Serioussly, just tell him to stop with alll the rumors! But go super slow! Start off really just telling he's the bestest friend ever and your glad you guys are friends. Than start to tell him that you LOVE him as a friend and nothing more. If he's going a long with it, just nicely tell him he needs to stop with the rumorsss noww! ( NICELEY!)

thiiss is deff not your fault in anyway, you chose your words carfulllyy. but sometimes guys mightt interpret things are said wrong. and he might actually think u like him back that way. talk to him and tell him how upset you are about this situation and if he does really care then both of you will just have to pass through this situation, and he has to deal that ur not into him that way. maybe you can even introduce him to some of your girl friends that he might become interested in, ya know. hook him up ;]

Wow. Seems to me like you got yourself in pretty deep. But you could tell him that you still think he's a really nice guy & you still wanted to be friends, and make after summer you guys could try something. I don't know. Sorry I can't give too great advice on this one. Tell me how everything works out though! :/
