it's not that they can't be killed, its that if they are killed, our bodies would be defenseless to infection and the like. the soaps that kill 99.9% of germs kills the good germs too, so if we get rid of them all, it reduces our immune systems immensely and would make us rely on exfoliants and similar soap types due to the germs not being able to remove the dead skin cells and other things that we need the bacteria for. Sorry for the science lesson, just thought you should know (:
