ever wonder,
if we're all really just little kids inside? you know,
going to disneyland for the first time & your eyes
sparkling. believing in tinkerbell, hoping peter pan
& herself will show up with pixie dust? to run up
& hug mickey & minnie mouse, or maybe to have a
lunch with the princesses -- picturing yourself the
newest princess. i bet each & every one of us at
one point in our life looks at the boy & thinks, "kiss
the girl!" . . . or maybe, singing disney songs in the
shower, that way you know nobody can hear you.
can you honestly tell me that you have never been
jealous of ariel & how she can be friends with the
dolphins? or maybe cinderella, & her fancy dress?
well, i know we're all jealous of her prince charming.
i bet, deep down, inside, we're just a bunch of girls,
making their way through this big empty place we call.
the world.trying to find a little pixie dust in our life, & wish
upon a shooting star for magic. so yes, have you
ever wondered?

best friends
were invented to go out shopping together,
to watch scary movies that neither of them
wanted to, a shoulder to cry on && to dish
all about that one special boy to. to diss the
girls who think they own the world, to beat
up the guy who makes her best friend cry.
they're the ones who will stick by you even
when you're having a bad day; in your sweats,
baggy t-shirts & ponytails, with no makeup.
who needs a boy, when you have them?

just for today,
can we forget about drama, lies, & backstabbing?
lets go back to when we were eight years old, &
the only problem in life was when the boy you like
would rip your barbie doll's head off. lets go way
back then, so then i can dare you to kiss me - & i
wouldn't be glared at for it. where i can tag you,
& then you're it. i just want one more day where
i can walk outside & not worry about my hair, or
my makeup. one day to just be myself, & to run
after butterflies, hoping i might catch one. one
day, where you're just a tiny person in a big
world, exploring. so please, lets go back.

it means many things; for example,
that girl over there? to her, it means
every day of your life with the person
of your dreams. but it also means one
hug lie. another example? well, take that
guy. his idea of forever is maybe two weeks,
until a really hot chick comes along. it means
a joke, just some fun, & he doesn't even care about
that poor girl's heart

is the way his eyes sparkle when he's
happy. the way his laugh could make
the whole world a better place. the way his
smile lights up the whole city. p e r f e c t is him
walking into the school soaking wet, walking past
the cheerleaders && to me, as he picks me up && kisses
me. perfect is seeing those girls faces when we hold hands.

& if theres one thing i learned. . .
it's that no matter what, you're going to be hurt;
no matter what, somebody will ruin your perfect
day. sometimes you wanna cry, sometimes you
just wanna be left alone. theres weak ones, who
only insult you. theres insecure ones, who start
rumors about you. theres sweet ones, who let
too much go. & then, theres the strong ones. .
they come in all different shapes & sizes; they
know how to smile when everything is wrong,
yet don't hide their emotions from the world. they
know what to say, when to say, & how to forgive
somebody when needed. but most of all, they
know how to say words that take your whole heart;
"i'm sorry"

know everything. you'll say things that
make complete sense to you -- but to
other people, they think you're insane.
