Dear Diary Entry 2
Dear Diary,
So today we started practising our song for our gig. We are doing a cover because we figured it'd be safer that way. We're doing Alice by Avril Lavinge. We're actually getting really good at playing it.
Today is Saturday and basically what happens every Saturday is we'll play all day then have a sleep-over or just hangout all night together until Sunday. We call this our GFN (Go! Fun Night). Then Sunday is when it's pretty much our day to do whatever. Sometimes we muck around with the instruments. Other times we go to the shops or the movies or just spend the day at home. You'd think after so many weekends this would get old and boring. But it doesn't. It never does.
Anyway, the most shocking thing happened. While were all taking a break, Jack asked Shelley if he could talk to her for a minute and she said yes. While she was leaving, Tyler, Veronica and I all exchanged a glance. As soon as they stepped outside, the three of us rushed to the wall and pressed our ears against the door to try and hear what was going on.
After a few minutes, they came back in. Smiling. Holding hands. Veronica, Tyler and I exchanged yet another look with our eyes wide.
Me: So, what's going on?
Jack and Shelley: *Giggle and look at each other*
Veronica: Well, spit it out!
Tyler: You alright, man?
Jack: Yeah, of course.
Shelley: Well... tonight Jack is taking me out... So we're not going to be here for GFN
There was a buzz of chatter in the garage until Veronica made an announcement.
Veronica: Oh, guys. I won't be able to come to GFN either tonight. My grandmother is coming down to stay with us for a while. I'm really sorry.
So, basically, with Shelley, Veronica and Jack gone, it was just me and Tyler for GFN. He offered to call it off since it wouldn't really be a band thing anymore but I said we could just hang out. That was two hours ago. Tonight GFN was going to be at Tyler's house so I'm heading over there in about half an hour. To tell the truth, I'm actually kind of nervous. I mean, we've been alone together but this is different. Everyone is so spread out- not in the room next door. Don't get me wrong, I am excited just I didn't think I'd ever be this nervous or excited to be alone with Tyler. I've got butterflies! I should probably start heading over there now.
