mom: i didn't buy them, they were your grandma's. there is a tragic story behind those earings...

mom: well, your grandma and her friend sofia were bestfriends. they were on a boat to move here to america. they became very close. one day, sofia got very sick. she couldn't properly breathe, move or talk. it was horrible. your grandma went to visit her everyday. one day, sofia gave her some gold earrings. she died shortly after... she kept them all this time.
