Yesterday in school,
We had a presentation
About the genocide.
There was a slideshow, complete with pictures.
Not only was I crying,
I was truly inspired by the true story
That the presenter told us.
He had been through so much
And is still here, safe, and spreading the story, trying to inspire
people like me, who didn't think twice about it.
And it makes me think about
How our world could never be at peace
Because everybody in this world
Has an opinion, and all of them
Conflict.
I take my life for granted, so pampered,
with a nice house, food, and everything
i could possibly imagine.
And all of us always seem to want more.
So what about giving the people who need
one simple meal each day something
Instead of buying things that aren't necessities
daily in the store, try
thinking about how some of these children have no food,
their families have been killed,
and they are fighting for their lives,
where we sit here in our happy, cozy houses
being comfortable with full tummies.
How about we get over ourselves for just a while,
and go try to help the people
who have less than us.
They are humans too.
We, many times, are ignorant.
We think our problems are big.
How wrong is that?
Let's make another person's life worth living.
Concentrate on others instead of ourselves,
And make a change.
WHERE IS THE LOVE? WE ARE ONE WORLD.
SO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE.
