Part 1
Ashley’s POV
My name is Ashley Lynn Swift. I am fourteen years old and Iattend Greyson Middle School as an 8th Grader. I am a normal girlwho has a best friend in the entire world, Valerie Tallone. I cannot livewithout my cell phone or access to the internet. Then there’s my family who I donot like all of the time. So ya, Here’s my story.
Let’s start with the day that I met my best friend. Go back seven years ago to thefirst day of 1st grade. I was new to the school. When I walked intothe classroom she immediately started talking to me like we’ve known each otherfor years. From that time on we have been best friends. Sometimes we aretotally inseparable.
Now go to one year later when she meets my cousin, Matt. They despised each other atfirst; arguing for hours. They would be mad if they were even in the same room.Eventually they grew on each other. Now they’re best friends, too. Though theyargue a lot, they know in the end that they are both just kidding with eachother.
Now fast forward to when we are in 6th grade and both me and Valeriemeet Matt’s new best friend, Kyle. He’s so nice but like Matt, he likes to jokea lot. Matt likes to boss people around a lot and he is a total brat. Kyle,well, he doesn’t stand up for himself that much and gets pushed around by him.I mean it’s nice to do some nice things for your best friend, but not cater tohis every need.
Matt’s dad, Paul, moved in with my grandma after his parents got a divorce. Matt andhis little sister, Madison, live with their mother. They visit their dad everyother weekend, Mondays, and Wednesdays. Since I practically grew up at mygrandma’s I go there a lot. Since Val is practically family, she comes overthere a lot too. Whenever we go overthere, it is usually me, Val, Matt, and Kyle, and we hang out together.
Ever since Valerie met Matt back in the 2nd grade; she fell head overheels for him. She would beg to go over my grandma’s just so she could stare atMatt all day long. Which of course annoys me to no end. But, Kyle has his eyeson Val and she’s too busy drooling over Matt to notice. I try to tell her that,but she thinks Kyle likes me. Sike! So there you have it, I introduced the LoveTriangle.
I do have to say I find it amusing to watch them. How Kyle drools over Val and Valdrools over Matt while he is texting his girlfriend. Matt and his girlfriendare, apparently, they are in a serious relationship. But, of course, I stand onthe outside looking in on the Love Triangle. Val doesn’t see it though… She’sCrazy!
