he told me he wasnt going to ask my best friend out because he cares about her to much to loose their friendship .
its funny because that thought never ran through his mind as he asked me that

i know i may seem perfect ;
but this smile is fading & these eyes are beginning to water .
i try to ignore the fact that i cried myself to sleep last night ,
but it's not like i have to remember , later i'll do the same , as i lay in bed ,
trying to think of ways to make myself seem a little more perfect ,
just so you don't see the tears i've been covering up
since the day you left .

she begins to cry , as i hold her tightly in my arms .
i can't stand to see my best friend falling apart like this .
" i'm sorry " is all i can manage to say though .
i wish i could tell her things get better ,
but i'd be lying . the last thing she needs is another liar .
things don't get easier .
i still cry myself to sleep at night ,
wondering where i went wrong .
hopefully things get better for her ,
but ill never have my happily ever after ..
