One in a Million
*Chapter Seventy-Five; Part Two*
Amber's POV:
I was comfortable now; in red, flannel pants and a grey hoodie. My stripped socks warmed my feet and Niall's necklace hid under my clothes so no one would see I still wanted him back. Jess laid next to me on the sofa in her grey sweats and a bright, blue tee shirt. She rested her legs on top of mine with her Hello Kitty booties on her feet; sometimes I wondered why she loved Hello Kitty so much.
I leaned my back up against Liam's shoulder and tucked my feet inside the crease of the sofa; my toes were freezing. Harry and Louis sat on the other end of the sofa and poor Zayn sat on the floor again. Lilli sat up in the sleeper next to Jess. We put on The Proposal while Jess and I stuffed our faces with Ben & Jerry's.
It was getting pretty late so I had to go put Lilli down to bed. Jess was out cold so Liam followed me into the nursery. I rocked her until her little eyelids fluttered shut. I carefully set her down in her crib and took my seat in the rocking chair once again. "What am I going to do?" I questioned Liam, knowing he didn't know how to answer. "How am I supposed to raise her on my own? Her life is going to be so screwed up without Niall." I started to cry again, but Liam wouldn't let me.
"Shh, don't cry." He knelt down at my knees and rested his hand on the arm of the chair. "Hey, look at me." His fingers gently raised my face to stared right into his eyes. My favorite thing about his eyes were that you could see everything in them; nothing but the truth. "You see that little girl in that crib? She loves you no matter what. And she always will, Amber."
