There's an emptiness we all feel.
Not like there's someone or something missing from our fragile lives,
But a part of our lives that have vanished long ago.
We don't see it.
Not in ourselves,
Or anyone else.
As daylight shines everything's fine.
It's the times near 2 a.m when we're empty.
Filled of vulnerability.
We crave attention from those who see us as nothing.
We're alone.
We weep tears that show we're broken.
No one can see that we're empty.
But we're not missing something,
Or anyone in particular.
We're missing ourselves,
Who we use to be.
Who we thought we'd be.
But once the sun comes up,
We're "whole".
Because everyone else is just as empty.
We're all just amazingly good at hiding it.
That's the emptiness we'll only always feel.
