depends on the scenario
two of my best friends had something relatively close to what's going on with you except sprinkled with a lil more drama....
okay so bff1 was dating this guy who had liked both bff1 and bff2 but decided to date bff1 to see how it would work out but through out the guy and bff1's relationship bff2 started to like him and so they had a lil flirtatious thing going on and the guy broke up with bff1 because the relationship wasn't really going anywhere and he was so crazy about bff2 that he asked her and bff2 being crazy about him said yes but the brake up and the get together happened on the same day and left bff1 crushed and hating them both
whew! (the point of the story was to show you the result of how bff1 felt btw)
okay so talk to your friend about it first tell her that u kind of have a crush on her bf but don't be too forward with it example: i love your boyfriend and can't help it
try to ease it up a bit by saying: listen i have to talk to you, i think i might like *insert name here* and *insert your stuff to back you up here* and tell her that you didn't want to get her mad or anything and thats why you're telling her beforehand
make sure the conversation doesn't get either of you yelling and keep it calm okay? at least you'll get to tell her
and as for the boy ur best bet would be to let him go and ik it'll be hard but maybe the kind of person you're seeing him to be is who he is to your friend

I would tell your best friend. I mean, shes going to find out sooner or later. You shouldnt keep this buddled up inside of you, it'll just confuse you more than you already are. Your best friend might not be to happy with you in the end, but at least she knows now.
