Forever Only Lasts So Long
Chapter 1
Hailey's POV
----------------------
I woke up my the sound of my phone ringing in my ear. The song "Roll Up" by Wiz Khalifa played. I looked who was calling, it was my best friend, Paige. I quickly picked up the phone.
"Hey." I said.
"Hey. Where are you?" She asked.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You were supposed to meet me at the beach at 10:30, its 11!" She said. Oh crap! I totally forgot! I quickly jumped out of bed and pulled out my new, hot pink bikini.
"OMG I forgot! Let me get dressed, I'll be there in 20 minutes." I said as I quickly tried to change.
"Okay, bye. See you soon!" Paige said.
"Bye." I said as I hung up the phone. My bikini showed off my new tan, while my medium brown lengthed hair looked perfect with my green eyes. I pulled short shorts over my bottoms, and a ambercrombie t-shirt over the top. I quickly said bye to my mom and dad, then ran out the door. I live 3 blocks away from the L.A. shore, so I can walk. Since its summer, the parking lots near the beach are completely packed! Thank god I'm able to walk there! I ran onto the warm sand, then I saw Paige, looking flawless in her purple and blue bikini. She's so pretty, other girls are jealous. Today was perfect for the beach. Sunny, no rain coming, perfect weather for meeting boys.
“Paige!” I screamed. She turned around, startled.
“Hey!” She said back. We ran to each other and hugged.
“You look amazing! Total 10!” She said.
“Haha thanks! You too!” I said back.
“The boys are meeting us here later, Drew said we can start a fire when it gets dark.” Drew was both our best friend ever since we were young.
“Sounds great!” I said. We sat down on our towels and tanned and talked. Paige and I never ran out of things to say. That’s the great thing about us, we have so much in common. The only difference is, she has a boyfriend. His name is Austin, and he’s incredibly cute! Paige and Austin were best friends before they went out. Paige is always looking to get me a guy. She’s so focused on going on a double date. Although, I like being single. I don’t have to be so concerned about one guy. I was about to ask Paige where Austin was when a cute guy selling ice cream asked if we wanted to buy any. Normally, I don’t eat any junk food, but since he was so hot, I made an exception. I ordered an ice cream sandwich, then I started talking to him.
“What’s your name?” I asked. He smiled at me, happily he replied.
“John. You?” He asked.
“Hailey.” I replied.
“Sorry, I don’t like to flirt with girls while I’m working, but I just want to say you’re really cute.” Of course, that made me blush. Paige was just standing there, watching the whole thing. She was smiling.
“You’re pretty cute too,” I said. “How old are you?”
“17, I’m going to be a senior this year, what about you?” He asked. He was so cute, I wanted his number! He was also really nice, and had a great six-pack.
“I’m 16. I’ll be a junior this year.” I said. I wondered where he lived, or where he went to school. I started playing with my hair, looking like a fool.
“Sorry, I gotta keep going, but what’s your number? I’ll call you later.” He asked. I was so happy he asked for my number.
“627-555-5555” I said. He pulled out his iPhone4 and added in my number.
“Cool, see you later.” John said.
“Later.” I said back. Then he walked away. Paige and I started screaming at each other of joy! I was so happy! Maybe Paige, Austin, John and I could all go on a double date, if John asks me out, which he probably will. Paige and I ran into the water, diving into the waves of happiness.
