Addison's P.O.V.
Alex and I had been back together for almost two years now.
He regained my trust, and he hasn't hurt me again.
That day that I lost prom queen, I finally let him explain what happened.
He rigged the votes so that I'd lose, because he thought I was more important than the bet, and he didn't want me to find out about it.
Now my only regrets were not forgiving him sooner, but I'm never leaving him again.
College was going well for both of us, but today he asked me to meet him somewhere.
I threw on my black North Face jacket and a pair of jeans, and left my straight blonde hair down.
I strolled off of my campus and got a text from Alex saying to meet him at a nearby park.
I started running, until I got there.
My eyes scanned everywhere, but it was empty.
I sighed and started to text him, until I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around me.
I laughed as I turned around to see Alex smiling.
"So what's up?" I asked.
"I just wanted to talk." He said.
I looked at him, and nodded for him to go on.
"That day that we first really started talking..." He began.
I looked down, not really liking to remember that I had been a bet.
"I realized that the bet was the best day of my life. If a certain three words hadn't been said to me, then I never would have had you." Alex went on.
"What three words?" I asked, confused.
"Well first..." He sighed nervously, before he knelt down on one knee.
"I love you, will you marry me Addison?"
I was shocked, but then a small smile formed on my face, and I was about to answer 'yes'. Then my face went back to confused, wondering what the three words were.
Alex must have noticed my expressions because he looked up at me with a smirk on his face.
"I dare you."

I'm probably gonna take a break while I start writing a new story, I already have an idea...

C h a p t e r 15 .
Addison's P.O.V.
I ranas fast as my legs could carry me, with my heels in my hands.
I had heard Jos running behind me, but I didn't stop and she couldn't catch up to me.
I must look like a freak right now.
Running down the street in a prom dress crying.
I picked up my pace and finally reached my house.
I walked through the door and ran straight to me room, slamming the door.
I slid down the back of the door with my face in my hands.
I'm so stupid. I fell in love with the biggest jerk in the world.
And I even thought that maybe I had a chance.
My sobs started to slow down, and I finally opened by eyes.
There was a knock on my door, and I stood up.
"What." I yelled.
There was no answer, but the door pushed open. Alex stood in the doorway.
"Get. Out." I said slowly.
"Addison please I-"
I cut him off. "Look I don't want to hear it okay! You used me as a stupid bet that you somehow managed to lose. You lied to me countless times. You made me think that you cared about me Alex! You told me to run home to my parents, but I bet you didn't know that they're dead! And I get that you didn't know that, because you didn't care enough to find out! And worst of all, you made me fall in love with you!" I screamed at him.
I didn't really plan on telling him all that, but I couldn't stop.
"Addison I'm so sorry I-" He tried speaking again.
"Leave." I said.
A couple tears fell down his face as he slowly backed away.
"I rigged the votes so you wouldn't win, Addison. The bet didn't matter to me after I met you. I would rather lose a stupid car than have had you find out you were a bet in the beginning, and then lose you." Alex said. He laughed a bit through his tears and whispered, "But that didn't work out, did it?"
He began walking down the hall and I heard him shout from the stairs,
"And Addi, I wasn't lying when I said I love you."

Addison's P.O.V.
I hurried off the stage, and ran over to Jos.
Everyone looked shocked, and most people were sending Alex so dirty looks.
Alex stared at me, his eyes wide.
I saw him begin making his way towards me.
"What was that Addison!?" He yelled at me.
"It was the truth and you know it!" I shot back at him.
By now we had become the center of attention.
"Maybe that's how it started out, but I love you." He said looking into my eyes.
I looked down. I couldn't look into those eyes.
"Well maybe you should have thought about that before." I whispered and began walking away.
"Fine, whatever!" He called after me. "Run home to your parents."
I glared back at him, tears now streaming down my face and I just ran.
Alex's P.O.V.
I saw Jos coming over to me.
She stood right in front of me, and slapped me straight across the face.
"What was that for!" I yelled.
"Well first of all, you used my best friend for a bet! And second of all, you may want to rethink the last thing you said to her." She said, and ran in the direction that Addison had went.
"What is she talking about?" I asked Jake.
He just shrugged his shoulders, but then Ethan came over to me.
"Her parents are dead." He mumbled.
Suddenly I realized it. I had told her to run home to her parents.
"I really screwed up didn't I..." I mumbled to myself.
I pushed through all of the people in my way, and ran out the door that they disappeared out of.
I had to make this right.

Addison's P.O.V.
The car ride to prom was actually kind of awkward.
We didn't talk much, and I think Alex knows that there's something wrong with me.
When we got to prom, we actually talked and hung out with some people.
There was a slow dance on, and Alex stood infront of me.
He reached out his arm to me. "Can I have this dance?"
I smiled. "Sure."
We calmly swayed to the rhythem, wrapped in each others arms.
I'm really going to miss this...
"Addi?" Alex whispered to me.
I didn't answer, but he continued on. "If you're worried about winning, it's fine, don't worry about it. And Addison, I love you."
That was the first time he's actually said I love you to me.
But he couldn't mean that could he?
And he couldn't mean that it doesn't matter if I lose prom queen...
Before I had time to answer, a voice boomed over the speakers.
"Can we have all of the kings and queens make their way to the stage?"
Alex smiled, and took my hand. He led me up the stairs onto the stage, and then went to his spot.
"First, we'll do the king." Our principal said.
Alex, Jake, and a kid I didn't recognize were running.
"And your king is..... Alex Woods!" Alex smiled, and went to accept his crown.
"Now time for our queen!"
I looked over to Ashley and Kate, the other canidates.
I stood nervously, awaiting my name to be called.
"Ashley Martin!"
Ashley beamed and went to receive her crown.
Alex looked at me with a reassuring smile.
How could I do this, I didn't even win. So that would mean Alex lost his bet.
Jake looked happy enough that the queen wasn't me.
I was about to walk off, when I spotted Jos in the crowd.
"Do it." She mouthed.
I knew exactly what she meant, and I shakily walked to the microphone.
I tapped it, and suddenly, all attention was on me.
"Hi... Most of you know, that I've recently started dating Alex Woods." I sighed.
"Well to be honest with you, I'd liked him for years. But who would ever picture it? Alex woods, most popular kid in school. And then me. Addison Bates. The school's loser."
I looked into the crowd, and everyone looked a bit confused, especially Alex.
"Well you see, I thought that maybe, I could have been in love with Alex. He seems perfect right? All romantic, sweet, and let's be honest, he's not bad to look at." I laughed slightly.
"But that's not the real Alex at all. Now I didn't win prom queen tonight, which doesn't really bother me. But I'm sure it bothers Alex A bit more." I looked to Alex, and panic filled his face. "Alex Woods used me. If I won prom queen, he would have won something, but if I lost, well so did he. That's right," I smirked into the crowd, looking directly at Alex.
"I was just a stupid bet."
