Chapter: 1
The Truth
..........
The way I remember it, it was a hot day. An extremely hot day. The sun beat down on your skin like a drum, causing red splotches on your skin, unless of course you wore sun block. But the thing that made this day different from the rest was the fact that I finally had closure. I remember it exactly. The way my stomach curled when I heard his news. The way his words made my skin crawl. From that point, I had hope. I felt a sense of justice.
It started out as any day would. I was just sixteen at the time, so ignorant and young. I was different than the girls at my school, and my mother used to tell me that. I was always different. But my mother said being different was okay, and I went out into this world with a little to much confidence. I loved my mom. The last day I saw her was the day before my birthday, my fifteenth birthday. She walked out the door with a smile on her face, like she usually did. She was always happy. She was a great mother. My mom was always by my side. She looked just like me. I miss her.
