And it was all Because of
Sandy
C h a p t e r One:
One second, and it was totally dark and silent. The only things you could hear were the rough winds and the harsh sound of rain banging against the window, loud enough to sound like bullets being shot out of a gun. Cable boxes and transformers all across town were exploding one by one, leaving bright green flashes of light. Now I've seen many scary movies and been to haunted houses, but this was the scariest Halloween I've ever experienced.
It was a hurricane.
Now that the power was out, there was nothing more to do than sit and play cards with my aunt and uncle in the dull candle-light. In the front of my mind, all I could think about was Aces and Kings and Queens and getting the highest card, but in the back, I was worried.
Not worried about the power being out, or the safety of my family, because we were all safe in upstate New York. Thats not where the storm was supposed to really hit. Where it was headed toward, was in the Jersey shore, all along the border in towns like Seaside Hights and Point Pleasant.
I was scared because my house was right in between those two towns.
I lived in Manasquan, New Jersey, and my house was fairly close to the ocean. At first, when they had told us about the storm, we expected nothing, like last years tropical storm.
We didn't know what was really coming.

Ahh! A new book about my experiences in Sandy living in the Jersey shore and after the storm what happened/ is happening.
