A Little Further
Chapter Eight
Randy P.O.V.
I was a little surprised when Lucy said that i can come to the beach with her and Jen.
Although i was bursting with happiness, i still never thought that Jen was that interested in me. She invited me to come with her Luce, Ryan, and her brother Jake. I changed my mind and decided to make a move for her today and not tomorrow at the mall. We would both be surfing so i guess i could do it then.
I slipped on my gray swim shorts and my blue swim top, and just to annoy him , i walked into my older brother, Layne's, room to steal his 'Stanford' hat. i walked in and tapped him on the shoulder. He looked the wrong way and i stole it off his head.
"Hey, thanks bro," i laughed as i placed it on my head backwards and ran out.
"Anytime..." i heard him mumble, annoyed. He was 19, Jake's age and went to Stanford with Jake. They were good friends and Layne's girlfriend and Jake's girlfriend were sisters.
Then i got my surf board and we were off.
Jen looked hot or should i say cute, gorgeous, amazing. She had her white swim shirt with the words 'Peace' and 'Surf' written on it and her rainbow swimshorts. On the way we picked up Ryan and we talked about catching waves and all that. I really just stared at Jen half the walk, hoping her brother wouldnt catch me. When we got to the beach me, Jen, Luce, and Ryan found a spot while Jake met up with some of his friends. We placed our beach umbrella up and our towels and went to catch some waves.
Jen was amazing at surfing. I guess she did have a lot of free time, so she surfed a lot. But she blew me away. I couldnt even catch up with her. He always said she surfed to leave them hanging i get it now. Shes not really the type that lets boys do it for her, she taked control. And i respect a women like that.
Afterwards, we ate lunch at this shack they have on the beach with the best nachos ever! Then we just lazilly paddled around and clumsily surfed for a while. We talked in the water, once in a while catching a few waves.
"i get it dude..." Ryan all of a sudden said to me.
"huh?" i was confused my chin rested on the front of my board and i was staring at my hands paddling in the water.
"you like her," he said calmly stirring the water as we watched the sun sink into horizon and as I watched Jen surf her last wave. It was pretty, her pretty self surfing with the background of a pink and orange sky.
"Shes hot man," i replied still looking into the water
" i know dude," he remarked ryan was the king of chicks, he had even taken Jen out on a date about three times but she said they were better off as friends and thank god she did.
"you gotta make you move." he told me.
"im gonna...if i dont chicken out." i muttered.
"haha,i gotta feeling you might" he said as he punched my arm.
I pushed him back and he pushed me harder. I almost fell off my board.
"Whoa," i balanced myself out,"Dude" i gave him a hard shove and this time he rolled off with a big splash. He got back up and ran his fingers through his hair and blinked a few timed. I was cracking up.
"Oh it's on now, man!" he smirked.
