Faith, hope, and dreams
Prologue
His cold gray eyes stare into mine as he slips his hands down my legs and
back up again. He slowly unzips my jeans and slips them off. I try to fight
back but he has leaned to tie my hands and feet up. Fathers are supposed to be comforting
and be there when you need them. To protect you from the monsters, not become one himself.
I try to scream stop but before I can he muffles the scream with the pillow.
After three years I should be used to this but it feels like it gets worse overtime.
He whispers "Do you like this?"
But I could hardly hear because the smell of alcohol distracts me.
Ever since my mother died of cancer, my father has been like this.
Unemployed, drug addict, and alcoholic. I scream but no one hears me.
My father finally stops when he hears sirens. They are probably for the
dealers next door but he doesn't take chances. As always, he acts innocent and says dinner
will be ready in five minutes. The worst part of this is I was 12 when it started
and he is the one who took my virginity. Though today is particularly bad.
He refilled his 'stash' today. I go down to dinner to find
him high and once he spots me he pounces. "Why isn't dinner ready?"
"But you said.." I whisper only to be interrupted by his screaming.
"But! But! Stop talking! Where is my dinner?" He screams and tosses me across the wrecked room.
Blood dripping from my mouth I say, "Let me make it."
"Make it! Make it! It should be made! Why can't you do anything as asked?"
At that moment, he punches me across the face. His ring leaving a huge gash on my left cheek.
