Blurry Vision
Chapter 1
*Addison POV*
I walked right through the doors, not ready for whatever was thrown at me.
Trying to keep a brave face, I walked through the halls, backpack slung over my shoulder.
Immediatley, people started bumping into me as I made my way to my locker. I put in the combination and opened the door. Today was Wednesday, my first 4 classes being
Algebra/Geometry, American History, Spanish, and Chemistry. Did I forget to mention I'm in all AP
classes? I get all A's, so I guess I'm a smart cookie, although I don't flaunt the idea.
Making my way to Algebra/Geometry with books in my backpack, a crowd immediatley started
to form in the middle of the hallway. It was just a big crowd. It was the most popular girl in school, Danielle, (but most people call her Dani).
And the weird part is, she is captain of the Math Club. Who the hell is ever popular
when they are in the Math Club? I mean she is really pretty, auburn curly hair (that looked more brownish), skinny, smart and she has gray eyes that had a light blue tint. She was passing out papers. I pushed through the crowd so I wouldn't be late to class. Halfway through the ring of people, trying to hide my face, Dani stopped me. "What's the rush Addison?" she snickered, everyone in the circle giggling. "Trying to get to class. Now may I please go?" I asked, trying to get by.
"Yeah, just take this invitation. I'm having a party Saturday, my parents will be "supervising."
Dani said, making air quotes for supervising. Oh great.... "Yeah I'll see if I can make it" I said,
giving a final push and making it through the crowd.
I rushed to first period, half of the people in the class being late because they were all crowding Dani. I was sitting alone, as usual, in the very front of the class. Suddenly, a new girl that I have never
seen before comes into the classroom, all of her books falling out of her hand.
Immediatley, I got up to help her. Grabbing all of her books, I gave them back to her, and sat back down. She gave the teacher a note, and the teacher announced "this is Paige Andrews. She is
new to the school and will be in your class. Please take a seat page. Anywhere you would like."
To my surprise, she sat next to me. "Thank you for helping me with my books" she said,
situating herself in her seat. "No problem. I'm Addison" I said, shaking her hand.
"Addison, please help Paige for the rest of the day with new classes and everything" Mrs. Blake,
the teacher, said. "No problem Mrs. Blake" I said, smiling. She returned the smile
and continued on with class. I explained everything to Paige and helped her through class.
"Thank you so much" she said, while walking through the halls to our next class.
"It's really no problem" I said. "Well, I think this may be the start of a friendship" Paige said,
hip bumping me slightly. "Maaaaybe" I said, and we giggled our way to the next class.
I was immediatley happy for the rest for the rest of the day. I would finally have a REAL friend in
high school, maybe even a best friend. Hopefully I can just live with the rest of the school year...
