It's Never Too Late
Preface
I stuck my finger into my vanilla soft-serve cone and wiped it across his nose. I laughed as he attempted to lick it off. He looked at me and smiled as I wiped it off of his nose with my sleeve. “Can we go for a walk Becky?” I nodded as he stood up and reached his hand out for me to take. I gladly took it and intertwined our fingers. “I have to tell you something Becky.” I looked at him puzzled, “Go for it.” He stopped and faced me, “I just want you to know that this has been the best summer ever and I love you. People think we are too young to know what true love is, but this is it. I want to be with you for the rest of my life.” I hugged him, “I love you too.”
Little did I know that, that was the last time I would see Drew.
Or so I thought..
