For some of us, in the beginning, trust is an easy gift to offer. After time of repeated offenses of emotional abuse, deceit and trust being taken advantage of, it is no longer a gift so easily given. Every time you try, it gets harder and harder to trust. It seems almost a shame that one of good heart, good nature and good intention should have to pay the price of what other inconsiderate individuals have done in the past. Whether it was family, a significant other or someone who you thought was a really good friend, sometimes you just get sick and tired of picking up the shattered pieces of yourself, just to put them back together and entrust them to the next only to have yourself shattered into even smaller pieces. Every time you break something that has been repeatedly broken and fixed, the pieces become smaller, the cracks many and the pain greater. The smaller the pieces the harder they are to put back together. As human beings we are strong, determined, relentless, and passionate creatures. We may not be glass but, we are most certainly not shatter proof .
