in the books, A was first mona, then mona died and ali had a twin named courtney. she was crazy and they were identical so then she forced ali to switch places with her so ali went to the mental hospital and courtney became friends with spencer aria and emily. then ali got taken away from the hospital place cuz they realized she wasnt crazy. but she kinda was cuz she killed courtney and shoved her body in the gazebo hole. then she was on the DL for a while and her parents still thought ali died, noot courtney so they were ashamed of courtney. so ali killed courtney and after Mona died, ali became A... at least thats how it is in the books >.< (: reply

According to my friend (xxheartonfirexx3) Alison had a twin sister. I forget her name. And she was mentally retarted. The parents made a mistake and sent Alison to the mental school instead of the sister. So the sister, cause she was mental pretended to be Alison, and that's who the friends know as Alison . But the real Alison wasn't even ever there. Finally the real Alison got out of the Mental School, where she wasn't supposed to be. She killed her twin sister for pretending to be her, and the real Alison is A. But the friends think Alison is dead, but it's really the twin sister, and Alison who killed her. Confusing? . LOL. Comment on my friends page and she'll explain it better.. Hope this helped! <3 reply
