DOUBLE
I thought it might’ve been luck—I learned there’s no such thing.
I guessed it might’ve been fate—fate for him to break me down.
I thought we were meant to be—yeah, meant to be apart.
I thought I could be good for him—no one said he was good for me.
I thought we could make “us” work—I should’ve known we couldn’t from the start.
Everybody warned me—they warned me a little too late.
He lied to save me—uh, no he lied to hurt me.
They told me the truth—yeah, way after they should’ve.
He took my hand—he dropped it as quick as he could.
He became a part of me—he never really should’ve.
I couldn’t ignore him—they said I was too “obsessed”.
He was like a drug—hah, just like the ones he takes?
When I was there he was a sweetheart—when his friends were there he was a jackass.
So what if he’s a jackass? At least he’s mine—no he’s not honey, not by a longshot.
I love him!—I hate him!
He makes me smile and laugh—he makes me cry.
He makes my life worth living—he makes me want to die.
I want him here with me—no I don’t, I can’t even look at him!
His eyes so blue—and full of false truth.
His smile, so bright—with consuming, sharp teeth.
The sound of his name perks me up—it makes me want to burst in to tears.
This double life he led? It let out all my fears.
