I will never understand why so many people have looked down upon Artists for so long. When I ask, the only argument I get is, "They don't make a steady income" or "It's unrealistic, they play all day". For one thing, not all people's worlds revolve around money. I know mine doesn't, and I don't plan to ever live that way. It would be a life of unhappiness. And second, how could it even be thought that artist's work isn't as real as a persons who works in a cubicle? Art takes time, deep thought, a lot of nit-picking and criticism.
As an artist myself, who is as determined as ever to push through until the end and go to Art school to get my degree, and pursue my life-long dreams, I believe that art is what keeps the world spinning. Your religion, wether you have one or not, is art. The clothing you wear is art, the way you do your morning routine is art. Certain trivial things you like to do, such as waking up early or taking walks in the rain, that is art.
And I will continue to believe so, for the rest of my life, wether people agree with me or not.
