Jesus did not die on a cross! He died on a pole or a stake.
The Greek word translated "cross" in many Bibles meant just one piece of timber. The symbol of the cross comes from ancient false religons. The cross was not used or worshiped by the early Christians. Therefore, do you think it would be right to use a cross in worship? --- Deuteronomy 7 :26; 1 Corinthians 10:14.
Say Jesus was around nowadays, and he got shot by a gun, would you who call yourself Christians be carrying around a gun necklace just as you would a cross?
HERES SOME INFO FOR THOSE WHO DONT BELIEVE ME:
Did you know long before the Christian era. crosses were used by the ancient Babylonians as symbols in their worship of the fertility god Tammuz. The use of the cross spread into Egypt,India,Syria, and China. Then centuries later, the Isrealites adultered their worship to the true god. The bible refers to this form of worship as a "detestable thing" ---- Ezekiel 8:13,14 . The Gospel accounts of Matthew,Mark and John use the Greek word stau-ros' when referring to the instrument of execution on which Jesus died. (Matthew 27:40; Mark 15:30; Luke 23:26) The word stau-ros' refers to an upright pole, and or stake. The book The Non-Christian Cross, by J.D. Parsons, explains " There is not a single sentence in any of the numerous writings forming the New Testament, which, in the original Greek, bears even indirect evidence to the effect that the stauros used in the case of Jesus was other than an ordinary stauros; much less to the effect that it consisted, not of one piece of timber, but two pieces nailed together in the form of a cross"
THE BIBLE EVEN SAYS DONT USE IMAGES OF WORSHIP, JOHN SAID GUARD YOURSELF FROM IDOLS-- dont believe me read Exodus 20:2-5; Deuteronomy 4:25,26)
