Black and White Balloons
chapter one:
I felt like a shinny new penny. At lunch I was asked to sit with some of the popular girls, and guys had walked up and asked me my name, or wanted me to work with them in class. I wasn't use to this. Back home i was a quite girl, I minded my own business and no one bothered me. I was the farthest thing from popular and the last time i had a boyfriend I was in ninth grade. Well, one that counted anyway.
I was pretty. I mean, I felt pretty. It was weird. i never really appreciated my petite structure, or the way my dirty blonde hair framed my face. I usually didn't wear make-up but today i did. I liked it. It was different. I needed different. Now seemed like a good time.
At lunch some of the girls I sat with were talking about the cheerleading tryouts the following week, i told them I use to do gymnastics and they were ecstatic. Apparently they needed tumblers. today just kept getting better. We laughed through the entire lunch as they told me about the teachers and other students. Thats when I learned of West.
He was a shoe in for captain of this years varsity football team. He was tall, close to six foot if not already. He had dark drown hair and an adorable dimple on his left cheek whenever he smiled. And his body was I understood why everyone awed over him. He was a cutie. And he was walking towards us.
Ever girl at the table straitened up and fixed there hair, without realizing it i did too. As he came closer the girls giggled, wondering what he wanted.
"hi, its Savannah right ?"
In shock i turned to face him, confused on why he was talking to me.
"yeah, hi"
" where ya' from?
" Boston."
" hmm, well i just wanted to introduce myself, I'm West"
" Well, thank you. It was nice meeting you" I couldnt help but laughing. I sounded so formal, and helplessly award. And with that he walked away, but he didn't make it half way across the room until he turned around and shouted.
" Hey Boston, will i see you around?" i simply nodded and turned around. i was definitly blushing and ever girl at that table looked at me a little strange until one to them broke out .
"oh my god, you are like the luckiest girl alive."
"what do you mean, that didnt mean anything."
That day I took three pictures, two of which discreetly included West.
