"I can't believe you are going on a date with Kyle." Brianna swooned later that day before I was going to have dinner with him. "It's not a date!" I protested. "Yeah, okay." Tiffany said sarcastically hopping off my bed to help me pick out earings. "I thought you thought he was a creep." Brianna reminded me. "He is. There's something weird about him. Like I said before, the only reason I'm going out to dinner with him is becuase I need answers, I need clues, I need to solve this murder and since he was apparently good friends with Bethany, he's going to help a lot." I said while putting on the hoop earings Tiffany picked out for me. "Oh no this again. You really want to do this, Haley?" Tiffany asked me. I nodded, "Of course." Brianna giggled, "When Haley says she's going to do something she does it." Tiffany rolled her eyes, "Whatever. You're never going to get anywhere though. The police can't find anything." I glanced at my ihome, I had to leave for my, NOT a date, dinner with Kyle. It was simply business.
"Refill on my diet coke, please." I politely told the waitress at the local family reasturant in our small, hopeless, boring, old town. "Alright, I'll be back." Kyle sat directly acorss from me. "Okay, I came to this dinner thing with you now spill. What do you know? About Bethany and Amy." I demanded. He smirked, "I only promised you I would tell you about Amy if you went to dinner. I didn't agree to tell you anything about Bethany." He was really getting me agravated. "Oh come on. Don't you want to know who murdered her?" I asked him. He shurgged, "Of course I do but I honestly don't think you're going to be the one to find out." I ignored his rude comment. "Just tell me everything you know." I snapped.
He took a deep breath before starting. "Bethany was our age but she was a year ahead of us in school. Of course she was home schooled because her parents are over protective. But she was about to go off to college before, you know. She was beautiful, smart, and just fun to be around and we were really good friends." I inturupted him, "Just friends?" I asked raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, definitely." I nodded, then continued to ask questions, "Wait, did her parents know you and her were friends?" I asked. He shook his head, "Not really. Like I said they're over protective. Anywho, I have no idea who did this or why. But, Amy is Bethany's older sister."
Just then our food came. We started to eat. "That's it? You were best friends with her and that's all your telling me?" I asked suspically while taking a bite of my salad. "There's not much to know really." he answered. "And Amy? All you're telling me is she was her older sister?" I asked. "Yeah, pretty much. I know Amy and her parents had some issues before she like left home or something but I don't know much about that. Bethany didn't like talking about Amy much."
I swallowed another bite of my food. I can't believe I went on this stupid date for that little information. That was barely any information at all let alone a clue.
There was something Kyle wasn't telling me, I could tell. What was he hiding and more importantly why was he hiding it?
Sorry to say but I can't really do "reminders" anymore; it's taking way too much time and I have midterms to study for it's hard enough for me to get chapters up let alone to that. So yeah, again, I'm sorry but you're going to have to check for a new chapter yourself. I usually post one a day; on weekdays it's usually around 4:30 and on weekends it's unpredictable.
