One Less Lonely Girl
Chapter 73
Justin's POV
I got out to the limo after people attacked me. I signed autographs and hugged people. They seemed so...happy that I did a simple little thing for them. It made me happier every day.
We got to the hotel and I went to my suite. I got my laptop and brought it with me to the couch. I flipped on the TV and just watched whatever was on. There was a game in a half hour. I decided to go on Twitter while I was waiting. I did the usual. Followed, retweeted, and watched some videos. There was 5 minutes when I was done with those things so I got up and made myself a sandwich. I ate it and went to sit back on the couch. The game was just about to start.
3 hours later, the game was over and I flipped to the news just as there was a knock on the door. I put the remote on the couch and got up to open the door.
"Hey. I was supposed to pick you up. You're out early." I said to Jessica. I made way for her and closed the door behind her. I took her crutches and helped her sit down.
"I know. I got Indie to drive me here because I wanted to talk to you." She said. Her expression was guarded.
"What's up, boo?" I asked her.
"Justin, I am going on a field trip on Sunday." She told me.
"So? I mean, that's great, but why did you rush here to tell me?" I asked. I was kind of confused. I was guessing it wasn't just to some planetarium by the look on her face.
"Justin. We are going to Italy for chorus." She told me.
"Italy?! What?! For how long?!" I asked. I realized what Sunday was. I was about to say something when she started.
"A week." She told me.
"That's my birthday! Sunday is my birthday!" I told her. She's leaving on my birthday?
"I know, Justin. I won't have this opportunity again though! This is my senior year. I won't even get to go to college because of my career choice. I want to experience things before it flies by. I know that you didn't get it, but this is my only chance. I've been waiting to be a senior for as long as I could remember."
"But...it's my birthday." I said really quiet and looked down. I focused on a pattern in the rug. She's leaving on my birthday?! I felt like I was about to cry.
"I know, Justin. And it will be the best-" I didn't let her finish.
"It won't be the best birthday ever. I won't have you here with me!" I protested.
"I know, but I will still give you your present and everything before I go." She said.
"I don't care about presents. I have everything I need. You are my everything. I need you here with me. It won't be the same without you, Jessica! We could barely keep ourselves together when you were away for 3 days, let alone a week! I know that I was falling apart on those days. All I thought about was you!" I told her. I just couldn't keep it in. I started crying.
"Justin! Don't cry! I will be back before you know it!" She told me.
Great. Now I'm making a fool of myself. It didn't matter. It wouldn't make any difference. As Jessica pulled me into a hug and rubbed my back, I couldn't help but think that this will be the worst birthday ever.
