Catch Me if You Can
Chapter 10
I spotted Harry sitting on the wooden bench, as the ocean breeze blew his hair back efforlessly.
I smoothed out my pair of white shorts and floral top.
I snuck up on Harry, and ruffled his hair, as he flinched.
He turned around with an amused smile as he saw me.
"Hey, Colby." he grinned, shaking his hair back to perfection.
I bit my lip. How could he be so perfect without trying?
"Well, let's get straight to to point, Harry." I smiled. "What did you want to talk to me about?"
Harry took in a deep breath, and started staring at the ground.
"Look, there's something I've been meaning to tell-"
"Hey! Is that Harry and Colby?" a voice hollered.
Harry and I turned back in unison, spotting a perky red head with a shaggy blonde.
Addison and Alex ran up to us, as they panted lightly.
"Hey, you guys didn't tell us you were going to be at the beach today!" Addison accused, smiling angelically, though.
"That's because I needed to tell Colby something." Harry muttered, shooting a glare at the two.
Alex and Addison looked at each other, as their smiles dropped.
They looked as if they knew what Harry wanted to tell me.
And whatever it was, it wasn't something good.
"Well, it's not a good time to talk now. We need to, uh, get hotdogs!" Alex piped in, plastering a fake smile on his face.
I frowned, but Harry sighed beside me.
"Let's go." he said under his breath, as we went sprinting off to the hotdog stand.
As I ordered my own custom made hotdog, Harry and Addison sat off at a small table, whispering to each other.
Since their backs were facing me, I decided to listen on their conversation.
I knew it wasn't something nice to do, but I was curious.
I hid behind a tall palm tree, as their voices got more audible.
"You have to tell her one day." Addison whispered.
"I will, but not now. I-I can't." Harry said.
"Well, you can't keep something like this from her! You're such an idiot." Addison rolled her eyes, pushing Harry's shoulder, as he staggered over a little.
I groaned. Keep what from me?!
I couldn't listen anymore.
I got my hotdog, as I proceeded over to their table, smiling.
"Hey guys, do you want some of my hotdog?" I asked, holding up the weiner squished between a bun and drizzled with ketchup and mustard.
Harry and Addison immediately stopped talking, as they shook their heads.
"No, it's fine. I have my own." Addison quickly said, taking a large bite.
I shrugged as Harry gave me a small smile.
Almost a smile of pity.
I smiled back, but much wider, before stuffing the hotdog down my throat.
I hate this chapter. I'll post another one up later tonight :D
