Summer<3 Part 10.
“Here you go girls.” The man at the counter hand’s me and Amber our lunch. We walk over to a table on the far left of the restaurant and put down our tray. We had both gotten a a bunch on Chines food to share.
“I call the Egg roll!!” I reach over the table and grab it out of her plate.
“haha, fine. But I get your chicken wings.” Amber does the same thing, reaches over me to my plate and grabs my four chicken wings.
“Deal.” I pop open the top to the duck sauce and pour some on my rice.
“Eww, that’s nasty.” Amber scrunches up her face as I poor it all over my rice.
“What are you talking about women? This is the best thing out there!” I grab my fork and shove a bunch of rice into my mouth and watch and Amber pretends to gage. We burst out laughing.
“So, how are things going with you and Andy lately?” Amber asks as she downs some of her water.
“Well, good. It’s going really great, and I love him a lot.” I start to feel my checks get red as I start to blush when I think about what he said when I was with him.
“Aww!!!! That’s so cute!!” Amber squeals with excitement.
“haha, I know! This summer is going to be amazing!”
“Kay, So i have to tell you something. I like someone.” Amber looks at me. Just sitting there looking at me.
“Who is it??? Please tell me it isn’t that guy that you started talking to on Skype?!’ I plead hopping that it wasn’t that guy, what ever his name is.
“Oh my gosh no!! I like James.......” Amber looks away and starts fiddling with her fingers.
“WHAT!! You like James!!” I kinda sorta yell out to everyone in the restaurant.
“SHHHH! Yes Maggie. I like him. I have for about two or three weeks. I don’t know how it happened, it just kinda did.” Amber smiles a little bit.
“Wow, I never saw this one coming. I do understand about the whole, it just happening thing though. Thats what happened with me and Andrew. Remember I was scared that he wouldn’t like me. That was so funny.” I put my fork down.
“Yeah, I didn’t see this coming either. But he’s cute, and funny. Oh my goodness, me makes me laugh all the time! And he’s sweet and caring, and not a jerk like all the other guys.” Amber says and takes a bit of her chicken wing.
“Yeah, James is all of those things, that’s why he’s my best friend. Besides you of course.” I smile a little bit.
“But do you think that he likes me back?? I can never tell with im because he flirts with everyone! Ugh, it’s driving me insane not knowing what he’s thinking.” Amber puts her chin in her hand and puts on a pouty face. I fell bad for her. Not only does she not know who he likes, but neither do I.
“I’m sorry, but if you are looking for an answer for me, you’re up the creek without a paddle. I don’t have a clue who he likes. But I might be able to find out for you if you want me to.” I eat the rest of my rice and wait while Amber thinks over my thought.
“Hmm, I would like to know very very bad what he thinks about me. But I don’t want to make things weird between us if he doesn’t like me.” Amber says, thinking over every possibility in her head.
“Yeah, but he’s not going to know that you like him unless you or me says something. I don’t have to mention it if you don’t want me too.” I get some more duck sauce to dip my egg roll into.
“Eww. Okay, you should ask him about who he likes, but DON’T tell him about me okay?” Amber sits up and finishes her chicken wings.
“Kay, I pinky Promise.” I stick out my pinky and she wraps her pink around mine.
“Deal. Kay. Now lets go home, I’m pooped.” Amber drinks the rest of her water and part of mine before the asks the person for a couple boxes. They come over and stuff the rest of our food in a box, put them in to bags, and hand us the bill. After paying the bill we grab our food and head for home.
“I’m gonna crash at your place tonight. I don’t feel like going home yet.” Amber says as we pull out onto the street.
“Okay. Just call you’re mom and let her know.” I hand her my phone.
“Na, she knows that if I’m not at home with her, I’m at home with you. But you do have some messages from Andrew. This one says “Heyy cutie just wanted to check in and say hi :P text me back before you go to bed. I love you<3”
“aww, how cute! I’m gonna text him back.” Amber says with a smile on her face
“Fine, just don’t say anything stupid okay.” I say hoping that she’s not going to call him something weird like pumpkin or something like she did last time.
“Haha, kay, I’lll try.” She says as she’s texting away.
“Tell me what you said.”
“I said, ‘hey, Maggie says that she loves you too and will text you later, this is amber:P’ Is that good enough for you?” Amber says putting the phone in my lap.
